We are looking for candidates with strong fundamental skills, who are passionate about keeping up with the quick evolution of NLP and Gen AI technologies.

This role will have a Hybrid work schedule, with the expectation of working in an office (Columbus, OH, Chicago, IL, Hartford, CT or Charlotte, NC) 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).

Responsibilities & Qualifications

  • Cloud-based pipeline development: We build data pipelines on scalable, rubust architectures, ensuring that large volumes of high-quality data are reliably ingested, cleaned, and fed into AI systems. This requires deep expertise in cloud architectures and data engineering tools.
  • Software development: We deploy AI systems in production, so you need to write production-grade code in Python. This includes object-oriented programming, unit testing, version control using Git, and familiarity with (or curiosity about) design patterns and best practices in software architecture.
  • Problem solving: We develop first-time solutions to unique challenges, requiring strong analytic skills, resourcefulness, experience in crafting AI solutions, and judgment about the feasibility of different approaches.
  • ML, NLP, and Gen AI Fundamentals: Our AI systems integrate predictive models, rule-based decisions, and LLM interactions. Your understanding of theory and practice will enable you to solve problems and manage unique implementations .
  • Communication and collaboration: We partner on projects with other teams and serve as a Gen AI expertise source across the enterprise. A collaborative approach and effective communication are key to your success.
  • Additional qualifications:
    • Professional experience with Gen AI using LLMs
    • Experience working in Agile
  • Candidate must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship. The company will not support the STEM OPT I-983 Training Plan endorsement for this position.

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$100,960 - $ 175,800

The posted salary range reflects our ability to hire at different position titles and levels depending on background and experience.
