As a Senior II Software Development in Test, you will automate the SDLC pipeline from testing through deployment and validation.

As a Senior II Software Development Engineer in Test, you will be responsible for:

  • Investigating and troubleshooting any deployment-related issues, identifying root causes and providing recommendations for solutions in various environments.
  • Developing and maintaining automated test frameworks for code changes, including unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests.
  • Creating and maintaining test plans and test cases for microservices, ensuring they cover relevant scenarios and edge cases.
  • Collaborating in integration testing with other engineering groups and suggesting improvements to various testing environments.
  • Investigating requirements for safe deployment and rollback strategies, and verifying all requirements during the deployment process.
  • Writing and maintaining scripts to automate platform service deployments.

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have 8 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or its equivalent.
  • Have Python and Pytest knowledge along with good understanding of modern testing methodologies.
  • Possess expertise in cloud native infrastructure, and have an understanding of system internals and performance.
  • Possess experience with automation tools and frameworks such as Jenkins, Github Actions, SaltStack.
  • Have good Linux fundamentals, especially around performance tuning along with experience in Bash and scripting fundamentals.
  • Demonstrate good Bash and scripting fundamentals.
  • Have an understanding of modern software development life cycle processes and service level objective monitoring and alerting.

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from $146,400 - $263,600/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
