Job DescriptionAs the Senior Industrial Designer, you will lead the design that shapes thoughtful, meaningful product experiences across our Outdoors, Security, and Connected Water product categories. This role evolving design practices in ways that align with both user needs and business goals.
We’re looking for someone who brings expertise in industrial design, a strong understanding of user experience (UX), and the ability to create bridges between physical and digital design. This person will support cross-functional collaboration, partner with team members, and contribute to the company’s long-term innovation strategy through empathy, adaptability, and clear communication.

What you will be doing
Design & Project Leadership
- Lead an integrated Experience Brand approach that bridges Visual Brand Language (VBL) and User Experience (UX).
- Contribute to the design strategy and execution for Outdoor, Security, and Connected Water product categories.
- Deliver outstanding product and experience design that advances brand relevance and business growth.
- Participate in design execution across strategic product roadmaps, innovation pipelines, and ID-led initiatives.
- Work It Together with the Innovation Team to align on emerging initiatives and concept development.
- Lead product initiatives, managing internal and external resources to fulfill a robust design roadmap.
- Advance connected product design, ensuring a seamless end-to-end user experience across multiple touchpoints.
Process & Capability Development
- Contribute to the best-in-class design processes, methods, and tools.
- Advocate for appropriate design methodologies such as User-Centered Design, Design Thinking, and Trend Research.
- Champion and proactively implement new technologies including AI-augmented design tools and emerging platforms.
- Lead and contribute to knowledge sharing of technical tools including CAD (SolidWorks), Adobe Creative Cloud, Keyshot, and VR environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial design or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in industrial design, with a strong portfolio of consumer or durable goods.
- 5+ years leading and mentoring design teams, with a focus on growing talent and team capability.
- Extensive experience taking physical products from concept to launch, including connected or digitally enabled products.
- Solid understanding of UX principles and experience working with UX and digital teams.
- Highly proficient in design tools including SolidWorks, Keyshot, Adobe Creative Cloud, and familiar with VR/AR or AI-enhanced design tools.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience designing for industrial applications, smart home, IoT, or connected products.
- Knowledge of design systems, visual brand language, and working across multiple brands.
Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $70,000 USD - $105,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
