About the Role:

The Senior Instructional Designer is a leadership role within the Product Training team, responsible for designing and delivering advanced eLearning experiences that drive knowledge retention and align with strategic business objectives. This role involves conducting in-depth research and analysis to create realistic objectives, engaging activities, and compelling content, while advancing best practices in eLearning design. The Senior Instructional Designer will mentor team members to enhance their design skills, create multimedia assets (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games), and develop assessment instruments to evaluate learner performance. Additionally, this role directs resources across teams to achieve program goals.

With 7-9 years of experience in eLearning design and delivery, the ideal candidate is an expert in content strategy, proficient in tools like Articulate and Camtasia, and skilled at mapping customer value to business outcomes. Outstanding communication, emotional intelligence, and program management skills are essential to prioritize complex projects, foster cross-functional collaboration, and propose innovative workflow optimizations. The Senior Instructional Designer will proactively anticipate educational needs, coach others, and establish team norms to ensure successful execution.

A typical day will include...
  • Designing learning experiences based on identified needs, including realistic objectives, engaging learning activities, and compelling content to enhance knowledge retention

  • Advancing best practices in eLearning design and development

  • Conduct instructional research and analysis on learners and contexts

  • Applying tested instructional design theories, practices and methods

  • Working with others on the team to improve their design skills and/or optimize eLearning content

  • Creating supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games, etc.)

  • Deciding on the criteria used to judge learners' performance and developing assessment instruments

  • Directing resources across team(s) toward execution of program objectives

This role is a fit for you if…
  • Have 7- 9 years of experience designing, developing, and/or delivering eLearning programs

  • You can effectively incorporate best practices in eLearning design, development, and delivery

  • You have the ability to actively maintain healthy cross-functional relationships and collaboration

  • You are effective at prioritizing top customer education projects

  • You have outstanding content development and delivery skills, with the ability to write for end users and C-level executives

  • You have knowledge of and comfort using technology, including an approach to troubleshooting

  • You have a passion for helping others achieve success through learning

  • You are self-motivated and customer-centric

  • You have a working knowledge of Google Workspace tools (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Slides, Sheets, etc.)

  • You have a proficiency with eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate and Camtasia

  • You have a familiarity with staffing concepts and/or solutions (added bonus)

  • You have experience with Learning Management and Knowledge Base systems is a plus

  • You have a BA degree in instructional design, education technology or similar

*Must have the ability to travel 10% of the time to support training initiatives*
