What You'll Do:

  • Own and scale the internal IT function, setting strategy, systems, and processes to support company growth
  • Design and implement automated workflows for onboarding, off-boarding, and employee lifecycle management
  • Build and maintain identity and access management systems (SSO, RBAC, provisioning/de-provisioning)
  • Lead security best practices across IT, including device security, MFA, and incident response
  • Manage and optimize device lifecycle (primarily macOS), including MDM and zero-touch provisioning
  • Develop internal tools, scripts, and integrations to automate and streamline IT operations
  • Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Security, and People teams on systems and tooling
  • Continuously improve IT infrastructure with a focus on scalability, efficiency, and user experience
  • Act as the escalation point for complex IT issues while minimizing reliance on manual support
  • Evaluate and implement modern tools (including AI/LLMs) to enhance IT workflows and productivity

What We're Looking For:

  • Proficiency in scripting (e.g., Python, Bash) and working with APIs to build internal tools - required
  • Experience with designing, implementing and maintaining networks
  • Proven builder mindset with a track record of automating IT processes and scaling systems
  • Strong experience with identity providers and SSO (e.g., Okta, Google Workspace, Azure AD)
  • Hands-on expertise with MDM, endpoint management, and device lifecycle 
  • Solid understanding of security principles, access controls, and incident response
  • Experience owning or significantly contributing to IT in a startup or high-growth environment
  • High autonomy with the ability to set direction and operate independently
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills
  • User-centric mindset with a focus on delivering a seamless employee experience
  • Pragmatic, solutions-oriented approach balancing speed, security, and scalability

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in IT, including ownership of internal IT systems in a high-growth or startup environment
  • Proven experience building and scaling IT infrastructure, with a strong focus on automation and systems design
  • Deep expertise in identity and access management (SSO, RBAC) and endpoint management (MDM, macOS preferred)
  • Proficiency in scripting (e.g., Python, Bash) and experience leveraging APIs to build tools and integrations
  • Strong understanding of security best practices, including access controls, device security, and incident response
  • Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously while partnering effectively with Engineering, Security, and People teams
  • Track record of improving employee experience through thoughtful, scalable IT solutions

Please Note: This is an independent contributor position

Final compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, skills, interview performance, and the scope and level of the role and candidate.

US Base Salary Range
$180,000$230,000 USD
