Who We Are

ZURU is a reimagination company. We look for categories that have stood still, then we build next-generation products and brands that set the new standard. ZURU Toys is reimagining play. ZURU Edge is reinventing everyday consumer brands. Rhodes Pet Science is reimagining pet science. ZURU Tech is leading the next building revolution.

ZURU started in 2003 with two brothers from New Zealand, and we’re still founder-owned and operated today. Since then we’ve become the world’s second-biggest privately held toy company, and nearly half of all Gen Y and Gen Z households with kids in the US own a ZURU product. Today we’re 5,000 people in 34 offices, selling into more than 150 markets, backed by over 100 acres of fully automated manufacturing. And we’re only getting started.

The Opportunity

As Senior Key Account Manager, you’ll lead ZURU Toys’ Department, Farm, Home & Brokers channel, the largest book on our Grocery, Drug & Specialty team. You’ll own a broad portfolio of national accounts across craft and hobby, department stores, farm and ranch, and home improvement retailers, along with a group of broker and distributor partners. These retailers don’t want a Walmart or Target playbook. So you’ll build the channel strategy, craft a story for each account and find partners willing to test with ZURU, while acting as a senior voice and mentor for a close-knit sales team.

The Impact You’ll Make

In the short term, the SKAM brings focus and control to a large, complex account base: keeping every account and broker relationship moving, nothing falling through the cracks, and current programs delivering. Over the longer term, you’ll become the team’s expert in department, farm and home retail, growing ZURU’s share in the channel and developing the next generation of account managers.

What You’ll Do
  • Channel ownership – Own the Department, Farm, Home & Brokers channel end to end and set its strategy, so every account has a clear plan.

  • Financial ownership – Drive and exceed sales, margin and profitability targets across the portfolio.

  • Account & broker management – Lead relationships with buyers and broker partners; run line reviews, pitches, program set-up and the paperwork behind them.

  • Key account leadership – Grow ZURU’s largest accounts in the channel through joint business planning and strong buyer relationships.

  • In-store execution – Maximize distribution, seasonal and secondary placements, displays and promotions.

  • Pod leadership – Work with your Sales Analyst on reporting, forecasts, orders and line review prep, and coach them as they grow.

  • Cross-functional leadership – Champion account needs with NPD, Supply Chain, Demand Planning and Marketing, keeping in-stocks and service levels high.

  • Team mentoring – Act as a role model for the KAMs, JKAMs and analysts on the team.

What You’ll Bring
  • 4–7 years’ account management experience with national retail accounts, including full P&L ownership and commercial negotiation.

  • Experience in department, farm & ranch, home, craft or specialty retail preferred; strong traditional CPG or toy backgrounds considered.

  • Experience working with brokers and distributors and managing many accounts at once – highly organized and able to handle a heavy admin load.

  • Strong knowledge of retail data (e.g. NIQ, Numerator, retailer POS) and the ability to turn insight into a buyer story.

  • Confident internal selling and stakeholder management, with experience coaching or mentoring others. US work authorization required.

Who thrives at ZURU

This isn’t a 9-to-5. We move fast, think big and set goals most companies would call impossible, then go after them. The people who thrive here are entrepreneurs at heart. They own their work, chase bold ideas and never stop raising the bar.

At ZURU, you drive your career, and we give you the platform to take it as far as you can. There are opportunities here that you won’t find anywhere else, and you’ll be surrounded by talented people who make things happen. We’re a true meritocracy: we reward impact, not tenure.

How we work

Big ideas happen when great people work side by side, so we’re office-first by design. Being together means faster collaboration, sharper decisions and stronger teams, and it’s where the real learning happens. Some flexibility may be available depending on the role, location and business needs, but most roles are office-based.
