Job Summary We are hiring for a remote Senior Manager, Business Intelligence (BI) to lead our clinical BI team and oversee the development and maintenance of our operational reports and dashboards that transform raw data into actionable insights that drive strategic business decisions. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and timeliness of reports for MRO’s exchange manager team, and managing the performance and career development of the BI team.  We work collaboratively with a strong culture, continuous integration, and high standards. Our development stack is a SQL, PowerBI, SQL Server, and cloud databases in tools in Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of BI engineers through regular one-on-ones, standups, performance reviews, goal alignment, and career planning to ensure high performance and engagement on high-impact initiatives.
  • Ensure the BI team has the necessary training, skills, and technical capabilities (e.g., SQL, Python, Tableau/Power BI, data modeling) to meet current and future business needs.
  • Set the technical direction for the BI team, including evaluating and recommending tools and technologies to improve the scalability, reliability, and effectiveness of data pipelines, models, and reporting environments.
  • Maintain a highly reliable, scalable, and well-governed analytics and reporting environment, ensuring data remains accurate, complete, consistent, and up to date.
  • Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues within the BI and analytics domain, while continuously improving data quality, pipelines, and reporting performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to identify, prioritize, and deliver analytics and reporting solutions that meet evolving business requirements.
  • Partner closely with executives, business leaders, and other stakeholders to ensure data models, dashboards, and insights support decision-making and align with business objectives.
  • Define and enforce user interface, visualization, and reporting standards in accordance with company guidelines to ensure consistency, usability, and clarity across analytics outputs.

Required Abilities, Education, and Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in business intelligence or related field.
  • 1-3+ years leading a business intelligence team, ideally while managing team members.
  • Extensive (5+ years) working experience in business intelligence development.
  • Enjoy working with others to grow their skillsets.
  • Have a testing mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task effectively.

Preferred Abilities, Education and Skills:

  • GCP or other cloud-based technology (AWS, Azure) experience a plus.
  • BS in Computer Science, or related field.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Manage a small team of individual contributors.

Work environment/Physical Demands: Continuous sitting and fine manipulation. 

Travel Requirements: 5%

The target salary range for this role is $150,000 to $165,000 per year, plus an annual bonus targeted at 18% of the team member’s annual salary. An individual’s salary within this range is based on multiple factors including but not limited to skills, experiences, licensure, certifications, and other business and organizational considerations. Salary ranges are reviewed, at minimum, annually and all team members are eligible for performance-based salary increases during our organization’s annual review period. The annual bonus payout may be higher or lower than target, dependent on individual and company performance and is considered variable pay.
