About The Role

We’re hiring an experienced and visionary Sr. Marketing Manager, Content to join our marketing team at Industrious to lead the creation and implementation of a full-funnel content strategy that drives brand awareness, reputation, and engagement with current and future members.  Specifically, you’ll lead the development of strategy as well as the creation of owned content across web, social, email, blog and other mediums.
We’d love to hear from you if you’re a wonderful hybrid: a masterful storyteller, systems thinker, dot-connector, brand steward, and content-ecosystem-builder who’s passionate about the future of work and building a new function from the ground up! This is hybrid role where you’ll be expected to work in person at least 2 days/week at one of our locations in either Chicago or NYC, candidates must reside in one of those two cities. 


What you’ll do:
Strategy

  • Author and execute a content strategy that resonates with our key audiences (from individual coworking members through Fortune 500 decision makers).
  • Lead Industrious’ content discipline to publish standard-setting content to increase awareness, reach, engagement, retention, and new member adoption.
  • Oversee editorial content strategy, including development, execution, and evolution of key concepts and storylines across all editorial channels (owned content across web, social, email, blog and other mediums).
  • Identify and activate new and innovative content opportunities for Industrious to welcome, empower, and delight current and future prospective members

Organic Social Media

  • Own the organic editorial calendar (creation, planning, reviewing, approving, and posting) across multiple channels (Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, etc.).
  • Build programs that generate UGC and video content that enable us to get the word out about Industrious and tell our brand story! That might include standing up a creator partner / influencer program, engaging with our Unit Ops team members to develop content, or other blue sky ideas that build our content library!
  • Oversee community management (moderating and routing messages/comments, engaging with relevant creators, future customers, etc.) 

Brand, Thought Leadership, and Product Marketing Content

  • Collaborate with our Marketing, Leadership, Enterprise, and Sales teams to develop impactful thought leadership content.
  • Hands-on briefing, writing, proofreading, and editing to generate deliverables like white papers, blog posts, web content, email copy, long-form content, etc.
  • Develop messaging and positioning for Industrious products or member segments. Develop campaign-level content as well as sales enablement assets.
  • Support on the content strategy and development across marketing/product emails, website, and more.

Leadership, Collaboration, and Process

  • Manage one internal copywriter and additional contractors (ex. content creators, writers, content agencies, etc.) as needed to achieve our content goals.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams including Growth Marketing, Brand Marketing & Creative, Public Relations, Executive Leadership, Member Experience, Operations, Sales, Product Management, and more to ensure content synchronicity with strategic business and marketing initiatives.
  • Establish content KPIs, provide regular performance analyses to stakeholders, and refine content strategies based on data-driven insights.


Required Experience

  • 7+ years of high-level communication experience with a background in content strategy, editorial/content production, digital or brand marketing within marketing, brand, corporate communications or agency environments.
  • Direct experience building and owning content and content strategies end to end.  
  • Sound knowledge of content management systems, keyword research tools, social media platforms, and search engine optimization (SEO) best practices.
  • Experience managing and building a team of content creators (internal or external).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and the ability to articulate complex strategies to various stakeholders. 
  • Ability to thoroughly understand Industrious member profiles, speaking to them in a way that “just gets them,” while also understanding how to balance this member focus with business objectives.
  • A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environments.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven success managing organic social channels (with or without creating the content itself) and shaping social strategy.
  • Mastery of video, audio, and/or long-form editorial formats, with a focus on effectively matching the medium to the message to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Strong network of freelance creative talent (writers, content creators, videographers, etc.) to help bring content to life


Compensation:

The annual base compensation range for this role is between $110,000 - $120,000. The successful candidate's actual base compensation will be based upon a variety of factors, including but not limited to work experience, job related knowledge, skills, and professional qualifications. You will also be eligible for an annual performance-related bonus.
