JOB DESCRIPTION

This role can work remote anywhere in the United States.

Job Summary

The Senior Manager Enterprise Risk Management role will be a deep subject matter expert in enterprise risk management. The successful candidate will apply deep subject matter expertise to define Green Dot’s risk appetite and the linked Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), lead the preparation of quarterly risk reporting (e.g., risk profile reports) for senior management and the board, and lead the work to establish and maintain effective risk oversight and governance. The senior manager will perform these activities in close partnership with senior business and risk leaders. The Senior Manager will be a critical part of the Enterprise Risk Management team and will have a mandate across the first and second lines of defense and be expected to work closely with Internal Audit.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Risk Governance & Framework Execution

  • Lead the development, maintenance, and reporting of the Enterprise Risk Management Program and Risk Appetite Statement and related governance routines.

  • Identify Key Risk Indicators and associated tolerances. This will require translating the business view of the risk into metrics that effectively measure the risk and are forward-looking to the extent possible.

  • Lead the work to populate the risk metrics on a periodic basis, review the populated metrics, and critically review breaches of risk tolerances.

  • Critically review risk management policies to ensure that they are aligned with the Enterprise Risk Management Program and three lines of defense model.

Reporting & Board / Senior Management Support

  • Prepare high‑quality reporting for the Board Risk Committee, ERMC/RMC, and Senior Leadership. Translate complex risk topics into clear, concise narratives suitable for executive and board‑level consumption.

  • This will require deep risk management understanding across different categories and the ability to critically review and synthesize data from multiple sources.

Partnership across the Three Lines of Defense

  • Partner with First Line business units on risk identification, remediation, and issue management; validate management action plans. Provide second‑line challenge, independent oversight, and thematic analysis across risk categories.

  • Collaborate with Compliance, Internal Audit, Operational Risk, TPRM, and other risk partners.

Risk Culture & Program Enablement

  • Drive education and awareness of ERM principles across all levels of the organization.

  • Promote a risk‑aware culture aligned to supervisory expectations (e.g., FRB SR 16‑11).

  • Support design and use of GRC/Risk technology tools (e.g., LogicGate).

Leadership & People Management

  • The role will require the ability to lead, influence, coach and develop staff across the lines of defense. This will be in alignment with Green Dot’s Management Track expectations.

Required Qualifications

  • 8–10+ years of experience in Enterprise Risk Management or related risk disciplines within a regulated financial institution

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Strong understanding of ERM frameworks, risk appetite, KRI programs, and the Three Lines of Defense model.

  • Experience preparing risk reporting for senior executives and boards.

  • Proven ability to lead cross‑functional programs and deliver high‑quality outcomes under time pressure.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or relevant certification (e.g., CRCM, FRM, CRMA, CIA) .

  • Experience with risk governance committees and regulatory expectations for BHCs or bank partners.

  • Familiarity with GRC platforms and risk analytics tools (e.g., LogicGate).

  • Background supporting large‑scale change, new product introductions, or transformation initiatives.

PAY RANGE

The targeted base salary for this position is $117,700 to $176,500 per year. The final compensation will be determined by a number of factors such as qualifications, expertise, and the candidate’s geographical location.
