Job Description

We are looking for a strong leader to guide and grow our Email Marketing work.

This role will help run our email tools, lead a team that handles a high amount of client-facing work, and bring new and better ways of doing things. We want someone who can help modernize our processes and support our team with clear direction and care.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead the Email Marketing team and help them do their best work every day.
  • Split your time between doing hands-on email work and managing people and projects.
  • Build trusting, supportive relationships with our internal teams, Clients, and Trade Allies.
  • Help plan email campaigns and make sure they are built the right way from start to finish.
  • Improve how the team works by updating old processes and bringing in modern ideas.
  • Review how jobs are assigned so the team stays on track and meets deadlines.
  • Make long-term plans that help the team grow, including better tools, better data, and better workflows.
  • Stay aware of new trends, rules, and privacy needs in email marketing, and help the team stay compliant.
  • Support the move toward more automation and AI when it makes our work better and easier.
  • Make sure the team follows clear steps that help avoid errors and keep our work high quality.
  • Answer questions from Clients and internal partners as a trusted expert in Email Marketing.
Required Technical Skills
  • Hands-on experience working in Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC).
  • Strong understanding of how email messages, journeys, and campaigns are built.
  • Ability to work with data and use it to guide choices and improvements.
  • At least 10 years of experience in Marketing, including Email or Marketing Automation.
  • At least 5 years leading people, not just acting as a team lead.
  • Strong ability to understand processes and improve them over time.

Preferred Technical Skills

  • SFMC certifications (Email Specialist, Consultant, or Admin).
  • Experience using project tracking tools such as Workfront.
  • Background working in an agency or a large corporate environment.
  • Experience leading change, improving systems, or helping teams modernize tools or processes.
  • Comfort using AI tools (like Copilot) to support writing, planning, and problem-solving.
Soft Skills
  • A steady leader who builds trust and supports their team.
  • Able to guide others through change and help them learn new ways of working.
  • Clear and simple communication skills.
  • A “hands-on” mindset — willing to jump in, help, and stay connected to the work.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a calm and thoughtful approach.
  • Curious and open to new ideas, especially around automation and team growth.
  • Able to stay positive under pressure and focus on solutions.
  • Team-first attitude with a drive to create stability, clarity, and long-term success.
Work Environment
  • An agency-style team structure
  • A fast-moving team setting where priorities can shift as client needs change.
  • A mix of managing people, doing email production work, and planning for the future.
  • Close partnership with marketing teams, data teams, and other internal groups.
  • A supportive environment where the leader is expected to help rebuild trust and stability after recent team changes.
  • A role that requires staying up to date with new email tools, automation ideas, and efficient processes.
  • You will help shape how our email work grows and becomes more modern over time.
