Position Summary

Health100 is an AI‑native health technology platform that unifies pharmacies, providers, insurers, PBMs, and digital health solutions into a single, consumer‑focused ecosystem. Powered by Google Cloud AI, we’re reimagining personalized and connected health experiences.

The Senior Manager - Software Engineering will lead engineering teams building a best-in-class consumer health experience on the Health100 platform — focused on identifying, prioritizing, shaping, and executing complex platform initiatives. We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager of Engineering to lead the strategic vision, development, and execution of our platform engineering roadmap. As a key member of our team, you will drive innovation, manage cross-functional teams, and ensure the delivery of high-quality products that exceed consumer expectations.

This role works within a top-notch organization of software developers who identify, design, and deliver technology solutions using Java and distributed systems to achieve defined business value. In-depth background in Agile Scrum development methodology is critical, along with strong familiarity with industry-standard Java frameworks, distributed databases, and cloud environments. You will guide the integration and validation of complex technology solutions and have proven experience with innovative technological improvements including architecture and roadmap working across technical organizations and senior leaders.

*Preference is for candidates to work hybrid out of our corporate headquarters in Woonsocket, RI; remote will be considered for candidates not in close proximity to an office.

Responsibilities:

  • Technical & architectural leadership: Design, oversee, and evolve scalable, distributed systems, ensuring best-in-class solutions that meet current and future business needs.

  • Team & talent development: Recruit, mentor, and retain high-performing engineers, fostering a collaborative, innovative culture with a pragmatic balance of continuous improvement and value delivery.

  • Execution & ownership: Lead engineering initiatives end-to-end—from strategy and prioritization through delivery—on complex, high-visibility projects, adapting plans as needed to stay aligned with objectives.

  • Performance, risk & governance: Establish KPIs and OKRs to optimize system and team performance, proactively identify and mitigate risks, and clearly communicate progress and challenges to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Collaboration & innovation: Partner cross-functionally with engineering, platform, design, security, customers, and partners while staying current on industry trends, emerging technologies, analytics, and AI to drive innovation and efficiency.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years managing and growing high-performing engineering teams in Agile, cloud-native environments.

  • Strong hands-on technical foundation in Java and microservices architecture.

  • 5+ years of cloud development experience (GCP preferred) — sufficient to guide architecture decisions and evaluate engineering tradeoffs.

  • Proven ability to lead teams through the full software delivery lifecycle — from discovery and design through deployment and production operations — at scale.

  • Experience applying generative AI tools or frameworks as an integrated component in software solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the Healthcare, Retail or Pharmacy domain.

  • Strong development experience in Java, microservices, and full-cycle end-to-end development from strategy to execution.

  • Ability to diagram complex software architectures and communicate engineering ideas to non-technical stakeholders both visually and verbally.

  • 3+ years of experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Kubernetes/Docker), and DevOps practices including observability and incident management.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, related field, or equivalent experience (Highschool diploma plus 4 years relevant work experience).
