The Stop Loss Product Manager will drive development and execution of Stop Loss product strategy and select projects in support of the Stop Loss business, working with cross-functional partners (e.g., Underwriting, Sales, Actuarial).  The Stop Loss product portfolio will be designed to meet and anticipate new customer needs, support realization of commercial growth objectives, and contribute to a market leadership position.

Key Functions

  • Create a Stop Loss product strategy outlining key objectives, prioritized initiatives, feature roadmap and performance metrics.
  • Guides product performance, assesses monitors market trends, and makes data-driven decisions regarding product enhancements, updates, or retirement to optimize the product portfolio.
  • Identifies unique value propositions, defines product positioning, and ensures effective communication of product features and benefits to customers and the market.
  • Assess competitive positioning of current Stop Loss products and recommend options to improve differentiation and impact.
  • Enhance Stop Loss products, and associated processes and systems, as needed, to improve customer and member experience and ensure competitive position of Stop Loss product suite.
  • Monitor customer, member and broker/consultant feedback, regulatory changes, and competitive intelligence on a regular basis, and consider impacts to product strategy.
  • Creates and reimagines marketing collateral that highlight the value proposition of Aetna Stop Loss
  • Building materials (including slide decks) that articulate product strategy for training, and guidance for brokers and internal Sales teams
  • Managing the product lifecycle: from ideation and launch through ongoing improvement and sunset decisions
  • Working with cross-functional partners like Sales, Product Evaluation and Delivery, and Finance, develop business case(s) for product enhancements.
  • This is an individual contributor role

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree along with 7-10 years of work experience in product management and/or product development
  • Must have Stop loss or health insurance experience
  • Must have prior product experience
  • Proven track record collaborating cross-functionally (actuarial, underwriting, sales, legal, operations, and technology teams)
  • Expert level skill set in defining product strategy, developing, and implementing business plans, using a data-driven approach

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree
  • Experience developing business cases, evaluating market trends, and driving go-to-market strategies
  • Expert ability to develop PowerPoint presentations
  • Self-directed and self-motivated with ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize deliverables, and meet deadlines
  • Experience thinking strategically and working collaboratively to set goals, build alignment, overcome obstacles and achieve project results

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$75,400.00 - $182,549.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
