SUMMARY/JOB PURPOSE (Basic purpose of the job):

The Senior Marketing Operations Manager - Key Customer Team leads the coordination, process improvement, and project management of marketing operations across multiple functions within the field-based Key Customer Team. This role ensures that all market insights activities, HCP consulting programs, product theaters, KOL receptions, and speaker bureau initiatives are executed efficiently, compliantly, and in alignment with organizational strategy and policy. This is a field-based position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver administrative and operational support for Speaker Bureau programs, with responsibility for executing Product Theater initiatives in collaboration with the Franchise Marketing Congress Lead, ensuring compliance and high‑quality logistical execution
  • Own end‑to‑end contract management for KCT‑related agreements, partnering with the Franchise Contracts Manager to ensure compliant contract routing, purchase order execution, and vendor invoicing in alignment with organizational governance and financial controls.
  • Support end-to-end HCP consulting operations, including process refinement to enhance cross-functional efficiency.
  • Drive cross-functional coordination with marketing partners, Legal, Compliance, and Medical Affairs teams to ensure alignment and adherence to policies.
  • Assist in project management of Market Insights initiatives, supporting vendor management and the development of a consolidated insights process in partnership with leadership, and collaborating with Franchise Marketing and Commercial IT to advance an AI‑powered Insights Hub
  • Oversee conference reception planning and execution, ensuring adherence to company policy and budget constraints. Inclusive of internal company congress management platform management.
  • Drive refinement and enhancement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to optimize workflows, strengthen accountability, and improve operational performance.
  • Oversee and manage vendor partners, relationships and budget tracking to support efficiency, compliance, and strategic alignment.
  • Comply with all laws, regulations and policies that govern the conduct of Exelixis activities.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • No supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Education:

  • BS/BA degree and 9 years of relevant experience; or
  • MS/MA degree in and 7 years of relevant experience; or
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:

  • Experience in customer-facing roles in the pharmaceutical industry, or vendor support of marketing initiatives and collaborating with field sales
  • Understanding of pharmaceutical marketing rules and regulations
  • Preferred:
    • Commercial experience within oncology therapeutic area
    • Marketing experience in healthcare (outside of oncology)
    • Familiar with the congress planning, speaker bureau management, HCP Contracting and vendor management, Cross functional collaboration tools

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Willingness to learn and ability to improve current processes
  • Ability to identify gaps and provide proposed solutions with limited oversight
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various internal and external partners
  • Strong organization, planning, and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently to execute against strategic and tactical plans under tight timelines
  • Ability to assemble and lead cross-functional teams toward a shared vision of success
  • Ability to present ideas effectively to individuals or groups, targeting presentation to the needs of the audience
  • Ability to travel to meetings/trainings/programs as necessary

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

Our office is a modern, open space that fosters collaboration and creativity.  Teams work closely together, sharing ideas and solutions in a supportive atmosphere.  We provide all necessary equipment, including dual monitors and ergonomic chairs, to ensure a comfortable workspace.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The base pay range for this position is $160,000 - $228,000 annually. The base pay range may take into account the candidate’s geographic region, which will adjust the pay depending on the specific work location. The base pay offered will take into account the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, experience and internal equity, among other factors.

In addition to the base salary, as part of our Total Rewards program, Exelixis offers comprehensive employee benefits package, including a 401k plan with generous company contributions, group medical, dental and vision coverage, life and disability insurance, and flexible spending accounts. Employees are also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus program, or if field sales staff, a sales-based incentive plan. Exelixis also offers employees the opportunity to purchase company stock, and receive long-term incentives, 15 accrued vacation days in their first year, 17 paid holidays including a company-wide winter shutdown in December, and up to 10 sick days throughout the calendar year.
