Our team spans trading, engineering, and business operations, working together to build and support the systems that power the firm. We emphasize data-driven decision making, rigorous problem solving, and continuous improvement to navigate complex and evolving markets.

We operate in a highly collaborative environment where ideas can move quickly from concept to implementation, and where individuals are empowered to take ownership and contribute directly to the firm’s growth.

About the role:

We are seeking a Mid-Office Analyst to own the firm’s trade reconciliation processes and manage day-to-day interactions with clearing brokers. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of trade, position, and cash data across internal systems and external accounts. You will work closely with trading, engineering, and external partners to investigate discrepancies, resolve issues, and improve processes as the firm continues to scale.

What you'll do:

  • Own the end-to-end reconciliation of trades, positions, and cash, ensuring accuracy across internal systems and clearing accounts (T+0 / T+1)
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies by working closely with traders, developers, and clearing firms
  • Manage the firm’s day-to-day relationship with clearing firms, ensuring timely trade capture, settlement, and issue resolution
  • Perform P&L validation and explanation, including reconciliation of fees, commissions, and financing
  • Monitor and reconcile cash balances, margin, and funding flows across accounts
  • Support daily and month-end reporting, ensuring accuracy and completeness of trading and financial data
  • Identify recurring issues and drive improvements to reconciliation workflows, controls, and processes
  • Partner with engineering to enhance internal tools and automate workflows, leveraging SQL, Python, or other data tools where helpful
  • Help build scalable infrastructure as the firm expands into new products, markets, and clearing relationships

Qualifications and skills:

  • Previous experience (3+ years) in a middle office, trade operations, or reconciliation role at a trading firm, bank, broker-dealer, or similar institution
  • BA/BS/MS degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Math, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of trade lifecycle, clearing, and settlement processes, ideally in options
  • Experience working with clearing firms and exchanges
  • Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and ability to investigate discrepancies independently
  • Working knowledge of SQL, Python, or similar tools is a plus.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment across trading, engineering, and operations teams

Why Edgehog:

  • Small team advantage: Direct access to founders and senior team members from day one
  • Ownership early: Manage real P&L and make meaningful impact within your first year
  • Cutting-edge tech: Work with our proprietary models and low-latency trading systems built in-house
  • Tight feedback loops: Weekly 1-on-1s with your mentor, quarterly reviews with leadership
  • Chicago-based: Affordable cost of living, vibrant trading community

Benefits:

  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance with premiums 100% covered by the firm
  • 401(k) with a 4% company match
  • Unlimited paid time off and sick leave
  • Free lunch, coffee, drinks, and snacks
  • Commuter benefits
  • Monthly happy hours and annual team events
