Design, implement, and operate large-scale distributed NoSQL and multi-model database solutions across cloud and hybrid environments. Provide architecture, performance tuning, sharding/partitioning, disaster recovery, monitoring, automation, and migration support. Partner with engineering and business teams to define data strategies, perform security assessments, and lead implementation, troubleshooting, and on-call operations.
- Experience with multi-model NoSQL databases, MongoDB, DocumentDB, CosmosDB Wide-column (Cassandra) Graph (Neo4j, Neptune)
- Time-series (InfluxDB, ScyllaDB, Timestream), Key-Value (Redis,Valkey, DynamoDB), Search (Elasticsearch/OpenSearch), AI and Vector Database support etc.

Responsibilities:
- Delivery of distributed NoSQL solutions, including multi-model architectures combining document, graph, and time-series capabilities
- Partner with our development team on database best practices and database design
- Partner with engineering teams to provide optimal data designs, query construction
- Design and Implement Data partitioning, sharding, and global distribution strategies
- Support Event-driven and streaming integrations
- Responsible for database configuration, implementation, and maintenance of database systems to ensure high performance with excellent reliability
- Partner with business teams in gathering business requirements and developing database solutions
- Design, Develop and implement large relational database systems and provide architecture guidance
- Gather technical requirements, assess client capabilities, and analyze findings to provide appropriate data solution recommendations and adoption strategy
- Define cloud, on-prem, and hybrid data architectures, including crafting multi-phased implementation roadmaps for High Availability, Scalability and Disaster Recovery solutions
- Strong knowledge of Cloud native solutions and expertise in AWS, Azure and/or GCP cloud solutions, reference architectures in related technologies
- Design strategies for database systems as well as set standards for operations, programming, and security
- Perform Security assessment for potential risk gaps
- Provide Technical leadership, work with the implementation team and operational support team as the subject matter expert to provide directions
- Automate the ingestion, delivery, processing, quality of structured and unstructured data models
- You will be responsible for monitoring day to day NoSQL database systems in terms of operations and management
- Perform database capacity planning and maintenance, monitoring and performance tuning
- Diagnose any database issues and employ measures to prevent recurrence
- Work with engineering and operations team in building tooling to drive scalability, reliability, and performance
- Research and develop new technologies and approaches for building highly available data persistence systems
- Continuously improve the reliability and performance of existing open-source database platforms in hybrid data solutions
- Adopt self-service tools to make it easier to use data store services to help the technical development team (or developer) succeed
- Provide appropriate support to users of database systems and database code deployments
- Provide database consulting to collaborating engineering teams (verifying database changes, database architecture solution, benchmark testing, collaborating on proof of concept, performance tuning, troubleshooting, etc.)
- Troubleshoot database issues in production and investigate external services or other levels of the architecture to analyze root causes
- Strategize on building proactive monitoring and alerting to pre-empt outages
- Participate in the OnCall rotations
- Skills/Abilities and Knowledge:
- Experience with multi-model NoSQL databases, like Document, Wide-column, Graph, Time-series, Search (Elasticsearch/OpenSearch), etc.
- In-depth understanding of NoSQL Internals and data management systems structure principles
- Knowledge building and maintaining largescale mission-critical production database systems
- Proven experience in cloud-native architectures and database modernization
- Knowledge analyzing issues from the application tier to database
- Experience working directly with cross-functional teams, resolving data or/and database related issues
- Knowledge of configuration management systems (e.g. Ansible, Terraform, Chef, Puppet)
- Knowledge and experience with Percona platforms, PMB and Percona Toolkit
- Systems engineering experience, including Linux performance, memory management, I/O tuning, configuration, security, networking and troubleshooting
- Expert level knowledge and experience with Cloud database technologies
- Expert level knowledge and experience in performance monitoring and cost optimization methods
- Experience in tuning database server configurations, queries, and indexing strategies
- Expert level knowledge and experience with Virtualization, Networking, and Linux
- Experience with strategic architecture and roadmap development
- Professional Level Certified Specialist or Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer (or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of DevOps technologies and experience with CI/CD practices
- Strong leadership, communication, persuasion, and teamwork skills
- Experience with management of distributed databases in multi-cloud environment is a strong plus
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify issues before they become problems
- Possess working knowledge of agile development methodologies including DevOps concepts
- Proficient in a relevant programming language for cloud platforms (e.g. Python, Shell, Go, Javascript, etc)
- Preferably a degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology or related fields
- Deep understanding of NoSQL engines internals would be good
- Proficiency with Linux system administration
- Extensive experience with installation, management, upgrades, backup and restore of large key/value, OLTP/OLAP database system
- Experience benchmarking, clustering, and tuning the databases for performance, reliability and scalability
