Job Description

Job Summary

Provides substantive and administrative support to in-house litigation counsel in managing a multistate litigation and pre-litigation portfolio. Responsibilities include matter management, drafting and reviewing legal documents, coordinating discovery and legal holds, responding to subpoenas, maintaining deadlines and case records, supporting depositions and trials, and communicating with outside counsel, business partners, courts, and vendors. Exercises independent judgment within established procedures and serves as a resource to other legal support professionals.
Job Responsibilities
  • Certified Paralegal who performs substantive legal work under the guidance and supervision of an attorney
  • Assists attorneys by analyzing and preparing legal documents, performing routine legal research and compiling data from such references
  • Understands how own team integrates with related teams to accomplish objectives
  • Impacts the quality, timeliness and effectiveness of the team through own work
  • Recognizes and solves atypical problems that occur infrequently
  • Evaluates and selects solutions from existing precedents or procedures
  • Communicates and explains complex information, including interdependencies within the team and others
  • Works under limited supervision and may use discretion to modify work practices and processes to achieve results or improve efficiency
  • Individual contributor acting as a resource for less experienced team members; does not have supervisory responsibilities
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by management

Education
  • High school diploma required; Bachelor’s preferred

Experience
  • Typically requires 5+ years of related work experience
