About the company

Our client is a fast-growing software company.

The role

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Own and evolve the shared engineering platform that other developers build on, spanning cloud infrastructure, delivery tooling, reliability and security. Partner with engineering colleagues to remove bottlenecks, lead platform initiatives from scoping through delivery, and coach teammates.

What you'll do

- Identify, prioritize, design and deliver platform solutions across cloud infrastructure, test infrastructure, shared libraries, security practices, authentication and deployment tooling.

- Take ownership of production availability through monitoring, recovery processes and a periodic on-call rotation.

- Work with engineering stakeholders to understand pain points and enable the team to ship quickly without sacrificing quality.

- Lead research and decision-making on key technology choices that shape how software is built and maintained.

- Run critical platform projects end to end, including defining scope, creating tickets and managing timelines.

- Help the engineering group grow its platform skills by writing guides, giving talks, joining design and code reviews across teams, and coaching junior colleagues.

- Build full-stack solutions, including frontend work, when needed to deliver value to engineers and the wider business.

Requirements

What we're looking for

- 3+ years of experience in infrastructure and platform engineering.

- Strong backend programming skills in Python or a similar language, beyond scripting and automation.

- Solid understanding of AWS and experience with infrastructure as code, such as Terraform.

- Track record of creating internal services that go further than build and deployment pipelines, for example identity, telemetry or background job processing.

- Experience with message queues or workflow orchestration tools.

- Experience improving and scaling an established, already-successful product platform rather than starting from zero.

- Hands-on application-layer backend coding alongside infrastructure work, rather than a pure DevOps or SRE profile.

- Experience acting as an internal platform team: gathering needs, building shared tooling and removing bottlenecks.

- Experience setting technical direction and making architecture calls, rather than only following a roadmap set by others.

- Comfort working in a fast-paced startup environment with a history of improving team productivity, reliability and development velocity.

Bonus points

- Experience in education technology or cybersecurity.

- Background in industries that handle sensitive or regulated information.

- Familiarity with security and privacy controls in settings with formal compliance obligations.

Benefits

- Base salary: USD 150,000 to 200,000 per year

- Health, dental and vision coverage

- Unlimited paid time off

- Professional development support
