Instrument is a design and technology company. We build brands, products, and experiences that move businesses forward—by making the complex simple.

For over 20 years, we’ve partnered with companies like Google, ServiceNow, Uber, Eventbrite, and ŌURA, helping them navigate change, launch new ideas, and grow with intention.

Our work spans Brand, Marketing, and Product, but what defines us is how we work. We bring strategy, design, and engineering together from the start, moving quickly from idea to execution and refining as we go. We aim to do great work and be great to work with, because both matter.

We’re a collaborative, hands-on team with roots in Portland and New York and a distributed presence across the U.S. and Europe. We build teams around the needs of the work, staying nimble without sacrificing craft.

We value curiosity, perspective, and continuous learning, and we’re committed to building an inclusive environment where people can do their best work.

If that sounds like you, we’d love to meet you.

You can lead a complex project and find paths forward that enable teams to create great experiences. You know and utilize best practices in producing (including account, project, and product management), yet you don’t follow a formula or merely execute. You’re able to drive every phase of the project lifecycle, partnering with clients, strategists, writers, designers, and developers—embracing and supporting all individuals. You speak all their languages while tirelessly advocating for the most successful project outcome: meeting business goals alongside user needs. From concept to execution you’re always influencing and implementing what is needed to move the project forward.

What You'll Do

  • Lead large, challenging, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish, leveraging creative, strategic, and insightful project approaches
  • Create and actively manage all aspects of a project plan to ensure the work is completed to meet goals and expectations
  • Provide value and support throughout the entire project cycle by influencing the work, the clients, and the team with specific and impactful production tactics
  • Have an expert understanding of and curiosity about brands, marketing and best in class digital execution
  • Balance innovation and practicality in your production approaches and evaluation of the work being made
  • Embody our proactive work approaches. You know when to take the initiative, work independently or collaboratively, think big or small to be 10 steps ahead
  • Communicate ideas well in all written and verbal interactions in order to build strong relationships and inform the right actions are taken
  • Find a way through every scenario with positivity and a sense a calm as both a good team member and client partner

What You'll Bring

  • 5-8 years experience as Producer on complex projects, including marketing, brand strategy, social and content execution.
  • Experience directly managing enterprise-level clients as well as large, multidisciplinary internal project teams with respect
  • Ability to “translate” between team/clients/work, keeping everyone’s interests and needs integrated as part of a project’s successful completion
  • Experience confidently facilitating and actively engaging with digital project management processes, approaches, and tactics
