About the role:
The design team at Samsara ships designs that our customers use every day to run their operations. A product designer helps shape the daily experience of those customers across industries such as transportation, logistics, construction, food and beverage, government and more.
Designers play a key role in crafting and optimizing the experience that powers how customers engage with the platform. Our designers have deep expertise in visual and interaction design, paired with a highly collaborative mindset. They embody a passionate about creating polished, user-friendly experiences at scale, working closely with cross-functional partners to ensure a high-quality, consistent, and efficient user experience across Samsara’s web and mobile platforms.
Expectations for all design roles include influencing strategy, and shipping well-crafted designs that make our customers’ operations more efficient, safe, and sustainable.
This is a remote position open to candidate residing in the US.

- Collaborate closely with product and engineering on strategy, planning, and execution.
- Work directly with customers to understand their needs, validate designs, and inform the strategy.
- Influence the design team through mentorship, helping instill craft, design principles, and values throughout the greater Samsara culture.
- Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices.
Minimum requirements for the role:
- 5+ years experience designing web & mobile applications.
- Expertise in interaction and visual design.
- Figma fluency (including prototyping).
- Portfolio showcasing your craft and ability to solve user-problems, and quantified impact.
Samsara’s Compensation Philosophy: Samsara’s compensation program is designed to deliver Total Direct Compensation (based on role, level, and geography) that is at or above market. We do this through our base salary + bonus/variable + restricted stock unit awards (RSUs) for eligible roles. For eligible roles, a new hire RSU award may be awarded at the time of hire, and additional RSU refresh grants may be awarded annually.
We pay for performance, and top performers in eligible roles may receive above-market equity refresh awards which allow employees to achieve higher market.
