Position Summary
The Senior Product Evaluation Specialist position is accountable through self and/or team for delivery of tactical business targets; has frequent interaction with management and peers at the same level; assists in training/developing peers at lower levels; adapts style and uses persuasion in delivering messages; develops recommendations to sell ideas or services; and frequently advises others on complex matters. This position also provides pre-sales technical expertise, installs, and demonstrates the organization's products at customer sites, collaborates with sales teams to develop and recommend products and services to meet customers’ requirements, and maintains up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge of the organization's and competitors' products and/or services.

Responsibilities

Market Quality

  • Assisting in identifying, securing, and developing fleet partners for commercial evaluations.
  • Manage the logistics of materials procurement, tire building, and mounting between Bandag manufacturing, Bridgestone Customer Support, Bandag Dealers, and fleet development partners to assure accurate test configurations are maintained.
  • Participate in surveys – coordinate and participate in surveys for information on current product performance and usage in the field. Coordinate and collect tires for regional tire surveys.
  • Determine and confirm product performance in the field for product development purposes. Investigate and initiate new product requests based on field evaluation and market awareness.

 

Service Quality

  • Be able to recognize tire conditions, manufacturing anomalies, and analyze tires removed from service to determine removal condition and probable cause.
  • Review of all invoices from Dealers & Fleets resulting from test agreements and the subsequent writing and submitting of credits.
  • Collect and provide information on new tires, competitive, and prototype retreads within the assigned area.
  • Make presentations and formulate plans to present evaluation data to evaluation partners, dealers, and field sales representatives.
  • Maintain and continually build relationships with fleet sales and dealer alliance members.
  • Collect, analyze, and report market trends – investigate and report competitor activity to regional management and Corporate Sales Engineering. Analyze market trends and recommend product line enhancements.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 8 years of experience in tier 1 or automotive industry.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Experience in tire engineering and/or testing procedures
  • Proficiency in second language (Spanish).
