Job Description

Our vision

Cox Automotive is in search of a Senior Product Manager for the Connected Experience Platform (CXP) product team that provides shared services products that enable an integrated and consistent foundation for all Cox Automotive retail solutions, including AutoTrader, Dealer.com, Dealertrack, HomeNet, Kelley Blue Book, vAuto, VinSolutions, and Xtime.

Our Initiatives/products that drive our vision are as follows:

  • Common User: a central facility for creating and managing a user that will be shared across all Cox Auto applications

  • Common Org: a central repository representing the organizational structure of our customers that will be shared across all Cox Auto applications

  • Common Experience: a consistent way to navigate and have key experiences (ex. Notifications, Cox AI Assistant, etc…)

What is interesting about this role and the team?
  • Connected Experience Platform is a team that serves as a framework for all of Cox’s Retail business units and brands, giving an enterprise-wide exposure to its team members.

  • In this role you will have the unique opportunity to interface with leaders from various business units across Cox Automotive, as opposed to being siloed into one application or brand.

  • The Connected Experience Platform team is the center building best-of-breed services that all Cox Auto products need. This lowers duplicative development and enables customers to use more Cox Auto products as a coherent suite, and as a product leader you will be directly instrumental in levering up our across-the-board footprint in the industry.

As a Senior Product Manager, you will…
  • Along with Director of Product Management, define product vision and objective measures of success and work closely with Architects and Software Engineering to oversee and approve product designs, enhancements, and quality.

  • Track market trends and competitive offerings.

  • Interact directly with customers and others to drive product direction and ensure capabilities meet market needs and customer goals.

  • Collaborate with multiple Agile product development / software engineering teams responsible for developing and launching platform application and components.

  • Use AI to create Epics and discovery specs for  the full product lifecycle from research and design through development and launch.

  • Work closely with internal and external customers, stakeholders, and other Product Managers to build a collectively understood and prioritized product roadmap and backlog at the epic and feature level.

  • Collaborate with other Product Managers to align backlogs and roadmaps across teams, departments, business units, and release trains.

  • Triage and prioritize customer-reported bugs and customer-requested features and enhancements.

  • Act as subject matter expert on assigned products, services, and capabilities, as well as in general areas of authentication security and permissions controls.

  • Collaborate with Architects and Software Engineering to ensure products and services are secure, performant, and highly available.

  • Collaborate with Operations to ensure appropriate monitoring, alerting, incident management, and problem resolution for products and services.

  • Participate in product team iteration planning, release planning, and coordination of dependencies.

  • Coordinate go-to-market activities with Sales, Marketing, Legal, Operations, Support, and other departments as needed.

  • Lead and participate in various Agile ceremonies, including sprint reviews, stakeholder meetings, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.

Qualifications

Minimum

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related discipline and 4 years’ product manager/product owner experience in a software development organization, or a related field.

    • The right candidate may have a different combination, such as a master's degree and 2 years’ experience; a Ph.D. and 1 years’ experience in a related field; or 12 years’ experience in a related field with no degree.

  • Experience with Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) required, including working competency with Agile tracking tools like Rally or Jira.

  • Strong oral, written and presentation communication skills required.

  • Demonstrated usage of data to inform product management decisions and prioritization.

  • Ability to work under pressure with time constraints.

Special things that would make you stand out from others…

Preferred

  • An advanced degree in a quantitative field

  • Working knowledge of SaaS web technologies and modern, cloud-based software architectures and components

  • Experience with single sign-on (SSO), identity & access management (IDM, IAM), authentication and authorization

  • Experience with application programming interfaces (APIs)

  • Experience partnering with design teams and guiding UX

  • SAFe experience and/or Agile certifications (e.g., CSM, CSPO)

  • Pragmatic Marketing certifications

  • Experience with standards compliance requirements, such as security, accessibility, and/or mobile responsive design

  • Automotive industry experience
