The Senior Digital Product Manager is responsible for driving the vision, strategy, and execution of high business impact Enterprise digital products and content management initiatives that enhance user experience across Generac’s business lines. This role influences across teams, owns complex product portfolios, and partners closely with IT, business stakeholders, and digital experience teams to deliver high-value features and solutions.
The role requires the ability to lead and influence large-scale initiatives with deep knowledge of digital platforms and content management systems. Strong credibility and communication with senior level leaders (Director+). Strong data analysis and interpretation to drive critical product decisions.
Sr. Product Manager – Virtual Consultation
Generac Seeks a Senior Digital Product Manager with experience building and influencing a digital go-to-market strategy. Generac looks to continue expansion of digital selling capability though developing a virtual consultation and quoting capability. This high visibility role will lead determining market fit, what elements of our selling process and outcomes translate to the digital world, and writing requirements to bring an MVP to life. This person must be equally adept at working with business stakeholders to define the opportunity and build the vision as they are working with execution teams to bring the product vision to life.
Major Responsibilities
Go-to-market Strategy and digital experience innovation
Define the consumer and installer journey for digital quoting
Define opportunity for digital consumer and installer tools, identifying unmet needs and priority areas
Leverage financial KPIs to build the business case for technology investment
Stay ahead of industry trends, competitor strategies, and emerging technologies to inform strategic direction.
Champion innovation within the strategy, identifying opportunities for differentiation, efficiency, and user delight.
Product Strategy
Define and evolve vision for virtual selling and quoting capability across Generac’s consumer and installer touchpoints
Align priorities with enterprise go to market strategy and product go to market strategy
Own the end to end product performance, leveraging performance KPIs, analytics and user feedback
Develop a 0 to 1 plan inclusive of market understanding, pilots, MVP, and long term opportunity
Cross-Functional Leadership & Influence
Liaise between business stakeholders, product, design, and development, ensuring shared understanding and alignment to outcomes.
Provide thought leadership and subject-matter expertise, guiding cross-functional teams toward scalable, user-centered, and technically sound solutions.
Represent digital product leadership in enterprise planning discussions, advocating for product needs and user experience improvements.
Operational Excellence
Lead Roadmap, backlog prioritization, refinement, and delivery planning to ensure execution aligns with strategy and value delivery.
Drive continuous improvement in product development practices, release management, and digital content operations.
Promote best practices for user research, experimentation, UAT, and iteration to achieve high-quality outcomes.
Adept at technical solutions to weigh in and translate to stakeholders.
Serve as a mentor and advisor to peers and junior product professionals, contributing to the growth of the product management discipline within the organization.
Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent knowledge
Work Experience
8+ years of experience as a Product Manager/Owner working in an agile environment or similar digital product management role
Experience leading large-scale high business impact digital platforms with a meaningful go-to-market component
Experience with products that bridge digital experience and physical experience then translate into physical world outcomes. Home services a plus
Experience managing product roadmaps and backlogs in a complex highly matrixed environment
Experience developing products incorporating personalization and AI for customized outcomes
Experience with commerce products, especially B2B2C
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Knowledge of agile scrum methodology
Strong ability to influence across a matrixed organization
Ability to understand and synthesize complex business and technical requirements
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with Director + leaders
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Generac is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this role based in WI, IL, Denver, CO, or Boston, MA ) is ($131,200-185,000) This compensation will ultimately be in line with the location in which the position is filled. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, certifications and geographic location. This role is eligible for variable compensation including short term and long-term incentives.
