As the champion of our mobile strategy, you will shape the roadmap, partner cross-functionally, and drive high-impact features that help pool professionals manage their daily work in the field. You’ll work closely with design, engineering, customer success, and leadership to continue to grow our world-class mobile experience. Ensuring that it remains intuitive, reliable, and indispensable to our users. You will own the full lifecycle of mobile feature development, from discovery to delivery to adoption and iteration.

Reporting to the Austin-based VP of Product, this role can be in Austin, TX or remote in the following states: Alabama, California, Florida, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Texas, and Virginia.

What you'll do
  • Own the mobile product vision and strategy, aligning it with Skimmer’s overall business goals and user needs.

  • Define and prioritize the mobile roadmap, collaborating with stakeholders to balance innovation, tech debt, and user feedback.

  • Lead product discovery efforts, including user research, customer interviews, and prototype testing to identify new opportunities and refine existing features.

  • Write clear, actionable requirements for design and engineering, and manage sprint cycles with an eye toward fast, high-quality execution.

  • Analyze product usage and customer feedback to measure success, validate decisions, and iterate as needed.

  • Act as a mobile domain expert, keeping tabs on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor offerings.

  • Ensure a cohesive, delightful mobile experience that supports Skimmer’s mission and brand.

What Performance Looks Like
  • Within your first 3 months you will analyze and assess customer needs around our mobile products and translate those into roadmap and business requirements for our UX and engineering team. You’ll have a deep understanding of our current web and mobile platforms and roadmap. You will interact with our customers and will lead efforts to ensure our mobile experience remains the best in the industry. 

Your Experience
  • Experience leading development teams building native mobile apps (iOS and/or Android) including taking at least one product from concept-to-launch successfully.

  • Proven success leading end-to-end mobile product development in a high-growth SaaS or tech environment.

  • Understanding of a mobile PM’s role when there is a web-based product, including the ability to discern which features need to be included in mobile and which can remain web-based only.

  • Strong user empathy with a passion for field-focused design and a deep understanding of mobile UX best practices.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and inspire across teams.

  • Experience with common tools like Figma, Sketch, Azure Dev Ops, Jira, Mixpanel, and Pendo, and similar platforms. 

  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and a data-informed mindset.

  • Bonus: Experience working with mobile development teams in React Native or similar frameworks.

  • Bonus: Experience in vertical SaaS or field service software.
