About the Role

As a Sr. Product Manager, Operational Intelligence at Wheel, you will lead the strategy and execution of automation and intelligent workflow initiatives across our Operations. This role sits at the intersection of Product, Engineering, Data, and Operations, with a focus on improving efficiency, scalability, and team experience through thoughtfully designed automation and agent-assisted systems. You will be directly responsible for designing, configuring, and iterating on agentic workflows — including defining prompts, decision trees, guardrails, and human-in-the-loop escalation models — in close partnership with Engineering and Operations.

You will partner closely with Operations teams across the company to identify high-impact opportunities, define clear product and automation boundaries, and build solutions that meaningfully reduce manual effort while improving quality and speed. This is a highly hands-on role for a product leader who wants to directly shape how intelligent systems perform operational work at scale.

What You’ll Do Strategy & Scope
  • Define and execute a phased automation strategy across operational domains, beginning with Marketplace Operations and expanding to Provider Operations, Clinical Operations, and Support

  1. Establish clear decision frameworks for determining what capabilities should be built into the core product vs. delivered through agentic automation or hybrid approaches

  2. Create multi-quarter roadmaps that balance quick wins with foundational infrastructure investments

Hands-On Agent Design & Ownership
  • Directly design and prototype agentic workflows, including prompt architecture, task decomposition, escalation logic, and decision boundaries

  1. Configure and iterate on agent systems in production environments using real operational data and feedback

  2. Rapidly test and refine agent performance through experimentation, evaluation frameworks, and human feedback loops

  3. Personally own the functional behavior, performance, and reliability of agent outputs in production

  4. Translate ambiguous operational workflows into structured, executable logic suitable for AI-driven automation

Who You Are
  • 5+ years of product management experience, with at least 3 years in senior or lead PM roles.

  • Proven track record of building automation, workflow, or operational intelligence products in enterprise environments.

  • Experience building with AI/ML systems, intelligent automation platforms, or agent-based tools.

  • Background in B2B SaaS, healthcare technology, marketplace platforms, or enterprise operations software.

  • Experience leading 0-to-1 initiatives in fast-moving, ambiguous environments.

  • You have personally designed, shipped, and iterated on AI-driven workflows or agent systems that performed real operational work at the enterprise level.

  • Outstanding communicator who brings clarity to ambiguity and can articulate complex agent systems, tradeoffs, and strategy with precision across technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Additional Skills & Competencies

  • Strategic thinker who can balance long-term vision with practical near-term execution.

  • Experience designing and directly building agentic systems, LLM-driven workflows, or AI-powered automation.

  • Hands-on experience with prompt engineering, evaluation frameworks, or orchestration tools (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex, orchestration layers, RPA tools, etc.).

  • Ability to translate complex workflows into structured logic and automation-ready architectures.

  • Comfortable working in technical environments where you may prototype or configure solutions directly.

  • Strong operational acumen with a clear understanding of how frontline teams work and where automation adds value.

  • Skilled influencer who can align cross-functional stakeholders across Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Executive teams.

  • Data-driven decision maker with strong analytical rigor.

  • Comfortable operating in lean environments with high ownership and autonomy.
