Compensation:
The anticipated base pay compensation range for this position is $131,200.00 to $218,700.00.

Position Details:
As a Senior Product Manager for the order processing team, you will play a critical role in meeting customer needs for orders submitted on Grainger.com, in our customer service centers, and through our ERP integrations. You will deeply understand the range of settings customers can apply to their orders and make sure every order meets those expectations. You will also understand the needs of Grainger teams that fulfill, ship, invoice, and collect payment so we can drive efficiency for customers. Finally, you will use data to identify improvement opportunities and create automation to fix problems before customers or Grainger team members need to intervene.
You will be based in Chicago or Lake Forest, IL with a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week in the office and report to the Director of Product Management. We are not considering remote employees for this role currently.

You Will:
  • Partner with business and operational groups to define a vision for order processing and execution that removes friction from the customer experience.
  • Collaborate with engineering, architecture, and UX to provide measurable results for customers and Grainger.
  • Define API solutions that serve the needs of all customer order interfaces and are easy for developers to use and adopt.
  • Frequently deliver valuable incremental improvements using modern software practices and technology.
  • Ensure our systems are instrumented for customer insights to drive informed decision making throughout the organization.

You Have:
  • 5+ years of experience as a product manager or in a related role.
  • Demonstrated experience in discovery of customer jobs-to-be-done and translating that into frequent delivery of user value.
  • Expertise in getting data and using it to make product decisions, and the proven ability to continually find ways to collect and analyze new information.
  • Demonstrated ability to define problems and connect solutions to the larger organizational strategy while measuring impact delivered.
  • Technical experience and desire to build API-based products while contributing well-informed strong opinions on usability and quality in partnership with engineers.
  • Communication and storytelling skills to create clarity around customer needs and solution value both in-person and in-writing.
  • Strong preference for working in close partnership with engineering, architecture and UX to deliver frequent and incremental value using continuous delivery practices.
  • Track record of understanding and explaining technical issues and opportunities to business partners so they can understand the impact and communicate the value broadly.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, science, mathematics, analytics, data science, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience in B2B or enterprise software solutions is a plus.
