Job Description

Are you looking for a new challenge? Do you enjoy managing NPI and Product Improvement projects in a fast paced, competitive market? If so, a role as a Senior Program Manager - Connected Products with Fortune Brands Innovations might be the perfect fit for you.

Based in Deerfield, IL or San Francisco, CA, this role reports to the Manager of Hardware Program Management - Security and Outdoor Connected Products. You will manage multiple and complex Sustaining and Quality Projects and multi-disciplinary teams (Product Management, Sourcing, Marketing, Electrical, Mechanical, Firmware, Software Engineering, QA, Manufacturing, Sales, and Technical Support) to bring new product ideas to market in a fast-paced environment. The development activity will be largely supported by global partners and consist of Yale & Master Lock residential and commercial products.

We are seeking an experienced Electro-mechanical Hardware & Firmware professional to support our efforts in building world-class mobile solutions for our direct-to-consumer products, as well as our business partners.

Job Location: This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule based out of Deerfield, IL. Effective mid-2025, Fortune Brands will transition to a new world-class campus in Deerfield, bringing together associates from across our U.S. offices, brands, and functions. The campus will offer vibrant workspaces for collaboration, along with amenities for dining, onsite daycare, fitness and recreation.

WHAT YOUR DAY LOOKS LIKE:

  • Effectively manage projects using scaled Agile and waterfall/phase-gate methodologies. You will be an active problem solver and coordinate the efforts of the project team.
  • Lead and manage new products and product enhancement projects.
  • Coordinate the work of cross-functional and multi-location project teams to accomplish all project tasks and milestones.
  • Ensure project governance per Fortune Brands Innovation gateway methodologies, create project schedules, track progress, and drive the project team to obtain schedule milestones.
  • Lead frequent project pulse meetings to ensure timely communication within the project team and the rapid completion of key tasks.
  • Ensure the identification, resolution, and escalation of key project issues to senior management.
  • Communicate project analytics, status, plans, and risk management strategies to both our internal senior leadership team and externally facing customers.
  • Collaborate with fellow project managers and the engineering systems managers to adopt or improve the latest project management techniques and tools.

 

Qualifications

  • Experience in Electro-mechanical project management.
  • 7+ years of experience managing complex cross-functional projects from beginning to launch.
  • 7+ years of engineering experience involving electronics, mechanical, software, firmware, and system-level components.
  • Strong presentation, organizational, and communications skills.
  • Experience using Jira and Confluence project collaboration and visual project management boards.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including MS Project, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently.

 

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is strongly preferred.
  • Must be open to occasional domestic and international travel and have a valid passport.

Additional Information:

Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $90,000 USD - $143,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
