About the role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager, IES (Integrated Energy Systems) to manage and optimize performance of our energy storage and site delivery projects. Your primary responsibility will be to execute the commercial agreements with our customers and suppliers while also collaborating with and managing internal engineering, procurement, and construction execution team members. Your responsibilities may also include work with outside consultants, service providers, vendors, and suppliers to ultimately deliver our projects with efficiency and quality. As we rapidly grow and deliver on more contracts worldwide, you will help document and build scalable processes, technology, and products.
Your Mission:
- Build and strengthen the relationship with your customer counterparts and other key stakeholders through active engagement and timely delivery of our commitments.
- Ensure project execution, inclusive of safety, quality, cost, and schedule, are delivered in accordance with the contractual obligations and scope of work.
- Work with Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) partners to develop schedules, deliverables, budgets, staffing plans, forecast at completion, change management and other support requirements for assigned projects.
- Champion the project Health & Safety program by setting the standard and leading by example.
- Direct and manage the Project Team resources, both on-site and remote, to ensure effective execution of the Project scope of work.
- Facilitate and coordinate handovers between the various project stages, for example, sales proposals, project initiation, project execution, and customer turnover.
- Manage, report on, and control project costs and schedule through all phases of the Project.
- Administrate the project in accordance with contract requirements and procedures.
- Own communications for stakeholders and project team.
- Orchestrate project closeout and document lessons learned.
- Track progress against the established project program and make decisions to alter or update schedule and resource allocation as needed to meet schedule requirements.
- Report on project progress and issue analysis to key stakeholders, including executive management and internal functional teams.
- Identify, manage, and obtain approval for any contract changes that my impact scope, cost, and/or schedule.
- Ensuring adherence to the controlled budgets and baseline schedules.
- Provide recovery action plans when critical milestones are not met to get the project back on track.
- Manage all project commercial matters, including invoicing and purchase order issuance both upstream and downstream
- Coordinate with supporting teams for equipment logistics and transportation of materials
Your Background:
- 10+ years of direct experience with managing EPC projects, preferably in the building of energy storage systems, substations, PV, or other utility-scale power projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (civil, electrical, mechanical, or similar), Management, or related is preferred.
- 2+ years of BESS, energy storage, or PV project experience preferred.
- Experience independently overseeing large multi-million-dollar projects.
- Experience permitting with local authorities.
- Experience with the commissioning and interconnection of energy system projects.
- Proficient with typical project delivery software applications (e.g. Procore, Primavera)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint).
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, up to 40%.
- Experience in public companies is a plus.
