We're looking for a high-energy, detail-oriented and hands-on individual to join the Revenue Team as a Senior Accountant, Technical Revenue. This role will be based out of our Austin, TX  office and will primarily be responsible for analyzing and reviewing complex revenue transactions, providing direction on technical revenue accounting issues and articulating accounting impact to our business partners during the contract negotiation process. In addition, this role will participate in month-end and quarter-end close activities and adhoc projects.

Team Description

The Revenue team is an extremely visible, high-performing team, ultimately responsible for accurate financial reporting of revenue. This will entail performing monthly close procedures, preparing detailed write-ups of revenue arrangements and providing recommendations for accounting-related terms during negotiations of revenue contracts. Additionally, this team is also responsible for designing and maintaining controls over reporting of revenue and assisting in quarterly forecasting activities for revenue and billings. 

Candidate Profile
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related discipline; CPA a plus
  • Team player and effective communicator with all levels of management and cross functional organizations
  • 3+ years of progressive experience in revenue accounting and operation in the technology industry
  • Proficient knowledge of revenue and related pronouncements (ASC 606)
  • Experience working in a SOX-controlled environment preferred
  • Knowledge of ERP and CRM systems (NetSuite, Salesforce)
  • Experience supporting month-end close processes and preparing revenue reporting for external reporting purposes
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills required
  • Comfort operating in an evolving, fast-growth environment with shifting priorities
  • Proficiency in Google Suite
Position Expectations
  • Own monthly revenue close procedures, including detailed review of revenue contracts and preparing write-ups for such contracts
  • Partner with cross functional business partners (Sales, Professional Services, Legal, Deal Strategy, etc.) to evaluate and advise on contract terms during contract negotiation
  • Collaborate with auditors and internal stakeholders to support revenue-related audits and compliance activities
  • Support revenue-related system implementations
  • Assist in the creation, refinement and ongoing maintenance of process and controls documentation around internal controls over revenue accounting 
  • Participate in special projects and ad hoc analyses as assigned

MongoDB’s base salary range for this role is posted below. Compensation at the time of offer is unique to each candidate and based on a variety of factors such as skill set, experience, qualifications, and work location. Salary is one part of MongoDB’s total compensation and benefits package. Other benefits for eligible employees may include: equity, participation in the employee stock purchase program, flexible paid time off, 20 weeks fully-paid gender-neutral parental leave, fertility and adoption assistance, 401(k) plan, mental health counseling, access to transgender-inclusive health insurance coverage, and health benefits offerings. Please note, the base salary range listed below and the benefits in this paragraph are only applicable to U.S.-based candidates.

$67,000$132,000 USD
