Develop and implement control systems and software architectures for robotics, focusing on real-world manipulation tasks and integration with warehouse management systems.
The summary above was generated by AI

Do you get excited when your software actually interacts with the physical world?
Are you ready to learn the new exciting world of smart robots?
Do you feel tired of working in a big company?
Would you like to cooperate with top professionals in our industry?

If your answers are mostly yes, then you should keep reading.

At Nomagic, we're on a mission to teach robots the real world. We're now looking for a Senior Robotics & Software Engineer, who takes ownership of core robot behaviors, control systems, and deployment tooling — and helps shape the next generation of intelligent manipulation systems.

Offer Essentials

  • Play with robots every day
  • Salary: Competitive US market salary (based on experience) plus equity
  • Relocation package (travel expenses fully covered)
  • Truly flexible working hours

Here is why we love this job ourselves, and hope you will enjoy it too:

  • We build robots powered by AI
  • We have them in production at scale and see their real impact on critical operations.
  • We test our code in unit tests, simulations and on real robots!
  • We're still pretty small, so everyone has a direct impact on the final result
  • Our team has built Google Warsaw, unicorn startups (Climate Corp), tested rocket engines and worked at top companies such as Nvidia or ByteDance. Now we shape the future of smart robotics together!
  • We combine world-class research with top-notch engineering and apply it to solve real problems

Some of the problems you may try to solve with us:

  • Design and implement robot control and behavior systems for real-world manipulation tasks
  • Build modular, extensible software architectures adaptable across customers and use cases
  • Develop heuristics and data-driven logic for handling diverse SKUs and item categories
  • Detect and handle real-world anomalies (e.g., double picks, item disassembly, mis-grasps) using multi-signal reasoning
  • Build internal tools and automation to speed up robot deployment and commissioning
  • Design APIs and interfaces for integration with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and customer infrastructure
  • Test and validate software through unit tests, simulation, and on real robots
  • Collaborate closely with perception, ML, hardware, and operations teams

What skills we’d like you to have:

  • 5–10+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Hands-on experience with robotics systems, industrial automation, or physical systems
  • Experience programming industrial robots (ABB strongly preferred; others welcome)
  • Strong proficiency in Python (experience with C++ or ROS is a plus)
  • Experience designing systems that span software, hardware, and real-world constraints
  • Proven ability to lead technically — driving design decisions, mentoring, and code quality
  • Strong problem-solving skills and comfort working with imperfect data and physical uncertainty
  • Excellent communication skills in English

What should you expect once you apply?

  • 30-minute recruiter screen
  • 60-minute technical prescreen
  • 45-minute hiring manager interview
  • Onsite or virtual interview loop (½ day total)
  • We make the final decision after max. 2–3 days after on-site interview.
  • Important: Feedback after completing the recruitment process.
