Senior SEO/GEO Manager Open Role · Organic Growth

This is a rare opportunity to do work in Organic Marketing that's actually ahead of the curve, at a team that's rewriting what an organic growth engagement can look like, with clients who trust you to lead.

Mission

Own a book of our top-tier clients, operate as their fractional Head of SEO/GEO/AEO, and deliver the kind of fast, profitable organic growth that makes clients stay for years, not months. In parallel, raise the bar across our team by always learning and educating others, improving our playbooks, and advancing what's possible at GMP.

The 5 core traits we hire for: Speed (GSD), communicate like a pro, ownership  results-oriented, push the growth agenda

Outcomes we'll hold you to

  • Generate 98%+ monthly revenue retention from your book by driving results and building trusted, long-term partnerships
  • Deliver measurable organic growth: traffic, conversions, AI visibility, and ultimately revenue, against agreed KPIs
  • Coach and mentor the team through regular feedback, strategy reviews, and knowledge sharing
  • Help build and improve our Organic playbook, especially SEO + GEO + AEO & Reddit playbook, SOPs, and reporting standards, leaving things better than you found them

What you'll actually do

Not just traditional SEO. You do Search Everywhere Optimization and think about strategy holistically. You will own client engagements end-to-end. You're not a task executor, you're a fractional Organic Marketing Lead. That means setting strategy, managing execution, surfacing insights proactively, and making clients feel like you work for them.

Here are some rules we go by:

  • Proactive, high-touch communication, you don't wait to be asked, you stay ahead of clients and make them feel like you're already on it
  • Fast response times and a bias toward over-communication, especially early in an engagement

Drive best-in-class organic strategy across SEO + GEO + AEO. You know what moves the needle and you focus there. You bring "ahead of the curve" thinking clients haven't tried yet,  backed by data from across our portfolio.

  • Lead content strategy grounded in keyword intent, with a clear command of AI/GEO: citations, share of voice, off-page mentions, and owned original content (proprietary data, frameworks, benchmarks)
  • Execute across our full capability set: technical SEO, content creation (end-to-end), off-page / GEO, AEO, and web dev coordination
  • Apply the 80/20 rule ruthlessly,  only the high-impact work gets done

Report like a storyteller, not a spreadsheet. You synthesize the "why" and "so what" behind performance data,  never just presenting numbers. You're candid about what's working and what isn't, always paired with a plan.

  • Report only on what the client cares about, which means no cookie-cutter decks with generic metrics
  • Surface negative results early with context and next steps. Transparent + solutions-oriented is the standard
  • Tailor how you communicate to who you're talking to: Founders want business impact, SEO Directors want precision, Managers want guidance, etc.

Be a genuine growth partner. Push the growth agenda beyond the initial scope, for example: suggest new channel tests, CRO improvements, tracking + analytics improvements. Help clients see around corners.

  • Actively identify upsell opportunities, such as our Reddit program, and flag them: this is a core responsibility, not a bonus
  • Share relevant industry news, learnings from other GMP clients (without violating confidentiality), and strategic perspective on paid + organic interplay

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years of experience delivering real revenue impact through SEO,  not just rankings, but business outcomes
  • Rigorous GSD (“Get Stuff Done”). You have a strong bias toward action and execution. You manage a high workload without dropping balls, follow up proactively, and meet commitments. You've probably used a framework like GTD.
  • AI Search fluency. You understand how AI platforms surface content, mentions, citations, share of voice, off-page signals, and you know how to build strategies that win in that landscape. You have experience in AI visibility tools like AthenaHQ, Profound, Otterly. And this burgeoning discipline is something you’re genuinely excited about working on!
  • Storytelling and communication chops. Strong written and verbal skills. You make complex performance data feel clear, relevant, and actionable for any audience.
  • Strong business acumen. You understand the client's bigger picture and shape organic strategy toward it. You're comfortable advising on growth beyond just SEO including: paid channels, Reddit, CRO, YouTube.
  • AI-powered working style. You're a proficient user of Claude, GPT, and AI workflow tools. You use them to do better work faster,  not as a crutch. Every deliverable is still human-reviewed and pressure-tested.
  • Analytical depth. Skilled in GA4, GSC, Ahrefs/Semrush, ScreamingFrog, and spreadsheet analysis. You can interpret data sets, identify the story, and translate it into strategy.
  • You know what it's like to sit in the client's seat, which makes you a more empathetic and effective partner. You also know what it’s like to manage competing priorities across a portfolio of clients without losing quality or momentum.

Benefits

  • We’re fully remote. We give everyone the space they need to set their own hours and do their best work. We support flexible schedules and don’t micro-manage.
  • We have unlimited PTO. One of GMP’s core values is work-life balance and we fully believe it.
  • Healthcare, Dental, Vision insurance
  • 401k contribution
  • There’s lots of growth potential. Work with other expert Growth Marketers to hone your craft and grow in areas you’re interested in.
  • You can make an impact. Join a fast-growing startup and make a meaningful impact on the trajectory of the business.
  • Performance-based eligibility for GMP's equity and profit-sharing program: we build together, we win together.
