The RoleWe’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join Wizard’s Customer & Applications pod, focused on building the user-facing products that power our agentic commerce experience.
In this role, you'll work across the stack to design and deliver intuitive, high-impact product experiences for merchants and end users. You'll help shape a conversational commerce experience built around an intelligent shopping agent and own critical customer-facing systems like authentication, marketing integrations, and A/B experimentation. You'll partner closely with product, design, and AI/ML teams to bring new features to life, from ideation to production. Our team contributes to every step of the user journey and paves the way for the next generation of e-commerce.
You’ll primarily work in Node.js / TypeScript and React, owning everything from backend services to polished frontend interfaces. This is a highly product-oriented role where engineering, user experience, and speed of iteration all matter.
What You’ll Do- Build and ship user-facing features and applications that drive core product experiences for merchants and customers
- Own features end-to-end across frontend (React) and backend (Node.js / TypeScript)
- Collaborate closely with product, design, and AI/ML teams to translate ambiguous ideas into high-quality user experiences
- Design and implement scalable APIs and services that support product functionality
- Contribute to frontend architecture and component systems to enable fast, consistent development
- Drive experimentation and iteration, including A/B testing and rapid prototyping
- Participate in technical design discussions, making thoughtful tradeoffs between speed, quality, and scalability
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
- Improve application performance, usability, and reliability across the product surface
- Contribute to team best practices through code reviews, documentation, and technical discussions
- You own product features end-to-end, delivering experiences that are performant, intuitive, and impactful
- You move quickly while maintaining high standards for quality, usability, and maintainability
- You collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners and help shape product direction through technical insight
- The features you build drive measurable improvements in user engagement, conversion, or customer satisfaction
- You elevate the team through strong engineering practices, thoughtful feedback, and clear communication
- 4–6+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong experience building full-stack applications using Node.js / TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks (React preferred)
- Experience building user-facing products with a focus on performance and usability
- Familiarity with RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs
- Experience working with SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and/or NoSQL databases
- Solid understanding of web application architecture and system design
- Experience collaborating closely with product and design teams
- Comfortable working in fast-paced environments with evolving requirements
- Experience integrating with third-party APIs is a plus
- Exposure to ecommerce or marketplace products (e.g., Shopify) is a plus
The expected base salary range for this role is $180,000-$200,000 USD, and will vary based on skills, experience, role level, and geographic location. Final compensation will be determined by considering these factors alongside overall role scope and responsibilities.
