The Role

As a Senior Backend Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining the platform’s core infrastructure. As a key contributor, you will drive innovation, optimize system performance, and ensure scalability, security, and reliability while collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product, security, compliance, and data analytics

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop Backend Systems
    Design and implement scalable, high-performance backend solutions, ensuring robust APIs for mobile, web, and third-party integrations.
  • Ensure Performance, Security & Compliance
    Optimize system performance, scalability, and reliability. Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with AML, KYC, data privacy, and state-by-state sweepstakes regulations.
  • Mentor
    Support and guide engineers by sharing best practices and contributing to a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally
    Partner with product, finance, compliance, and support teams to translate requirements into technical solutions and ensure seamless operations.
 Qualifications
  • Proven experience designing, developing, and scaling high-performance backend systems.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Python for backend development, automation, and data processing.
  • Experience building and maintaining APIs, working with CI/CD pipelines, and supporting infrastructure automation.
  • Solid understanding of system performance optimization, security best practices, and regulatory compliance, including AML, KYC, and data privacy.
  • Experience working with data pipelines, analytics integrations, and geolocation-based access controls.
  • Experience mentoring or supporting other engineers and sharing engineering best practices.
  • Strong collaboration skills working with cross-functional teams across product, finance, compliance, and support.
  • Hands-on experience with incident management, monitoring systems, and root cause analysis.
Requirements
  • Fluent in English
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience
