Our Mission

We aspire to build the “devops operating system”: one integrated platform to orchestrate the delivery of applications to the cloud, from start to finish. We will accomplish this by giving devops enthusiasts what they want most: a programming environment which can encode their expertise into reusable software components, while remaining compatible with their existing tools. If we are successful, the devops community will enter a new golden age of explosive innovation and collaboration, with the Dagger platform and brand at its center.

About The Role

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with a keen eye for design and a strong coding background to join our team at Dagger. This role is perfect for a designer who codes - capable of creating visually compelling user interfaces and seamlessly integrating them with backend services. This person will have the opportunity to define the visual identity of Dagger and help us make it consistent across all the Dagger products.

About The Product

Dagger is a portable development kit for CICD pipelines. Using Dagger, software teams can create powerful pipelines with minimal effort, then run them anywhere. Devops engineers love Dagger because it allows:

  • Re-using the same pipelines across dev and CI
  • Testing and debugging pipelines locally
  • Re-using their same pipeline across CI environment, without re-writes

You can expect to:

  • Design and implement intuitive user interfaces.
  • Dagger user interfaces are currently using ReactJS (Javascript / Typescript) and WASM (Go).
  • Work directly with our teams, users and Dagger clients to translate requirements into engaging and functional UI.
  • Develop and maintain the frontend codebase, ensuring high performance and scalability.
  • Connect frontend applications to backend services, utilizing Typescript or Go (WebAssembly) for optimized performance.

You may be a good fit for our team if you have:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer with a focus on UI/Frontend.
  • Proficiency in React, JavaScript, Typescript and Go.
  • Proven ability to design user-friendly interfaces and deliver high-quality user experiences.
  • Previous experience developing frontends for developer tools.

Additional helpful experience:

  • Experience with backend technologies, particularly Go.
  • Understanding of the importance of SRE, DevOps and Platform Engineering.
  • Previous experience in a startup environment, ideally as a founder or early employee, demonstrating the ability to wear multiple hats.

Salary Range:

  • $130,000 - $210,000 per year in San Francisco (depending on experience, skills, and qualifications)
Benefits of working at Dagger
  • Health & Wellness -We pay 99% medical, dental, vision, and supplemental insurance premiums for you AND your family.
  • Professional Development & Growth-We encourage professional development and growth. On a case-by-case basis, we offer funding for team members to pursue their professional goals.
  • Workflow - We are a 100% remote-first company: we encourage asynchronous, written communication and autonomy.
  • Time Off - 4 weeks paid time off per year (PTO) with an additional week of PTO between December 25th through January 1st, we encourage everyone to take them.
  • Equity - We recognize your contributions to our company through your earned equity in the company.

We are proud to be an equal opportunity workplace.
