About the Role

Senior Software Engineer for Supernova Lending, LLC, Chicago, IL.

 

Lead the effort in the design, development, and maintenance of our platform and related services.  Review code, provide constructive feedback, and ensure adherence to coding standards and guidelines. Participate in architecture and design discussions, contributing to the overall technical vision and direction of the team. Build and maintain unit tests and integration tests to ensure code quality and reliability. Continuously improve the performance, reliability, and security of our platform.  Address technical debt, refactoring code as necessary, and driving improvements in the team's software development processes and practices. Assist in the recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members. Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in development, sharing knowledge and insights with the team. Allows for the option to telecommute from home office in the Chicago metro area 1 day per week at employer’s discretion. 


Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or the equiv. based on a combo of education, training and or experience as determined by a written evaluation from a qualified credentials evaluator, plus five years of experience as a software developer.

 

Must possess at least 5 years of experience with the following:

 

  • Expertise with either Java or Python in development. Using Java, Spring Boot, and AWS for backend services, or using Python for ETL jobs.
  • Experience with backend data storage system design.
  • Building and maintaining unit tests and integration tests and engaging with test automation tools and frameworks.
  • Experience with good SDLC practices, expertise in using version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Using microservices, event-driven architecture and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).


Allows for the option to telecommute from home office in the Chicago metro area 1 day per week at employer’s discretion.


Compensation: $153,317.00/year
