Senior Solutions Architect - D365 CEFull Time Permanent Role

Citywest Office/Hayes Office

The Role:
Uniphar are embarking on an ambitious, multi-year transformation program and are seeking a Principal Dynamics 365 CE Architect to own the architecture of our strategic, global CRM solution. Building on our greenfield Dynamics 365 Customer Service platform, this senior role holds accountability for the end-to-end technical design of the CRM as it scales into the enterprise-wide system of engagement for our customers and patients. The ideal candidate combines deep, hands-on Dynamics 365 CE and Power Platform expertise with the architectural judgement to design for resiliency, performance, integration and security at global scale. Working within an Agile, product-based delivery model, the Architect will set the technical direction, own the key design decisions, and lead a high-performing development team - ensuring we build the right things, in the right way.

Key Responsibilities:CRM Solution Architecture (Ownership)
  • Own the end-to-end architecture of Uniphar's strategic, global Dynamics 365 CE CRM solution, from vision through to delivered design.
  • Define and maintain the target architecture, design principles and standards that govern how the CRM is built and extended.
  • Act as the design authority for the CRM, making the key design decisions and reviewing and approving solution designs to ensure architectural integrity.
  • Balance business need, cost, time-to-value and long-term maintainability in every architectural decision.
  • Remain hands-on in Dynamics 365 CE and the Power Platform to stay close to the technology and to prototype and prove out designs.
Designing for Resiliency & Non-Functional Requirements
  • Design for resiliency, scalability, performance, availability and disaster recovery, ensuring non-functional requirements are captured and baked into every design.
  • Embed security, data protection and governance by design, implementing appropriate access controls and governance policies across the platform.
  • Conduct architectural assessments of the existing solution and proactively drive improvements to performance, reliability and efficiency.
Integration Architecture
  • Design robust, secure and scalable integrations between Dynamics 365 CE and the wider enterprise estate (e.g. Azure, SAP, Microsoft 365 and third-party SaaS).
  • Select the right integration patterns and technologies (e.g. Azure Integration Services, Logic Apps, APIs, Dataverse) for each scenario.
  • Ensure integrations are resilient, observable and maintainable, with clear contracts and robust error handling.
Low-Code & Coded Solution Design
  • Make deliberate design decisions on where to apply low-code / configuration (e.g. Power Apps, Power Automate, Business Process Flows) versus coded / pro-code solutions (e.g. plugins, custom APIs, JavaScript, Azure services), based on the needs of the application.
  • Ensure the right balance of speed, flexibility, supportability and total cost of ownership in every solution choice.
  • Champion re-use, promoting common components, patterns and standards across the team.
Leadership, Mentoring & Team Development
  • Provide technical leadership to the CRM development team, ensuring a high-performing team is building the right things in the right way.
  • Manage, mentor and develop more junior members of the team, growing their technical capability and architectural thinking.
  • Set technical standards and ways of working and coach the team to deliver to them through design reviews, pairing and solution / code reviews.
  • Act as the technical point of escalation for complex design and delivery challenges.
Agile Product Delivery & Roadmap
  • Work within an Agile, product-based operating model, partnering closely with the Product Owner and delivery team.
  • Support the Product Owner in shaping and maintaining the CRM roadmap, translating upcoming features and Microsoft releases into architectural direction and delivery sequencing.
  • Assess new Dynamics 365 and Power Platform capabilities and releases, advising on adoption, impact and value.
  • Prioritise architectural work and technical enablers alongside feature delivery within the sprint structure.
Stakeholder Management
  • Engage senior stakeholders across the business to understand needs and priorities and ensure the CRM architecture aligns to strategic outcomes.
  • Communicate architecture, options and trade-offs clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Evangelise the art of the possible with Dynamics 365 CE and the Power Platform.
Key Skills, Experiences & Competencies
  • Deep, demonstrable experience architecting Dynamics 365 CE solutions at enterprise / global scale, ideally including Customer Service.
  • Strong knowledge of the Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse) and sound judgement on where to apply low-code versus coded solutions.
  • Proven experience designing for resiliency, scalability, performance and disaster recovery (non-functional requirements).
  • Strong integration architecture experience across Azure (e.g. Logic Apps, Azure Integration Services, APIs); experience integrating with SAP an advantage.
  • Hands-on background building plugins, custom workflows, JavaScript and cloud flows, underpinning credible, hands-on design leadership.
  • Experience with ALM / CI-CD and source control (e.g. Azure DevOps, Git for Enterprise); manual deployment to test and production environments is not permitted.
  • In-depth understanding of security best practices, access controls and governance for cloud and CRM environments.
  • Experience working in an Agile, product-based delivery environment, supporting a Product Owner and roadmap.
  • Proven experience managing, mentoring and leading developers and setting the technical quality bar for a high-performing team.
  • Ability to design innovative, re-usable solutions and components.
  • Proven ability to analyse complex technical issues and provide effective solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to influence and build trust at all levels.
  • Experience working in regulated / GxP environments would be a bonus.
