Meet Slingshot

At Slingshot Aerospace, we're on a mission to make space safer and more secure for everyone. Our work directly impacts global security, disaster response, climate monitoring, and the critical infrastructure that connects our world. We're a team of builders, thinkers, and problem-solvers who believe that the next generation of space operations will be powered by better data and smarter software. We move fast, we're not afraid to fail, and we believe the best ideas can come from anywhere—whether you're in engineering, sales, product, or operations. If you want to work on something that truly matters, with people who care deeply about the impact we're making and help shape the future of an industry that's just getting started, you're in the right place.

What You’ll Be Launching

As a Senior Solutions Architect, Data Scientist & Systems Engineer, you will serve as a key pre-sales technical partner supporting Slingshot’s government and commercial customers. You will work closely with Sales, Product, and Engineering teams to translate customer missions and technical requirements into scalable, data-driven solutions. In this role, you will combine solution architecture, applied data science, and systems engineering expertise to shape customer engagements, influence solution design, and support successful deal outcomes.

We're building a team of sharp, creative people who love solving hard problems. We value curiosity over ego, initiative over waiting for permission, and people who genuinely care about doing great work. Bring your expertise, your fresh ideas, and your drive—we'll bring the rocket fuel.

You’ll help our customers Sense, Fuse, Decide and Act in today’s ever more dynamic, contested, and congested Space Operations.

Your Mission (Should you choose to accept it)
  • Partner with Sales teams throughout the customer engagement lifecycle to support opportunity qualification, solution design, and technical alignment
  • Engage directly with customers to understand their mission objectives, operational workflows, data flows, and technical constraints
  • Architect end-to-end solutions that integrate Slingshot products, data pipelines, analytics, and partner data streams to advance the customer mission
  • Develop and deliver technical briefings, solution overviews, demonstrations, and whiteboard sessions for customer and partner audiences
  • Translate customer requirements into clear technical inputs for Product and Engineering teams
  • Apply Systems Engineering principles to evaluate solution feasibility, performance, and scalability
  • Support proposal development, including technical volumes, architectures, and solution narratives
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure proposed solutions are achievable, aligned to roadmap, and responsive to customer needs
  • Provide feedback from customer engagements to inform product strategy and technical prioritization.
  • Conduct/Coordinate customer Technical Engagement Meetings, partnered with Product teams and Sales, to advance the Slingshot offering and customer outcome.
  • Perform other duties as assigned (less than 10%)
Pre-flight Checklist
  • 8+ years of professional experience in solutions architecture, systems engineering, data science, or related technical roles, or equivalent experience
  • Experience supporting customer-facing or pre-sales technical engagements
  • Strong understanding of system architectures, data flows, and analytical or software-driven solutions
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating across Sales, Product, and Engineering teams
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, data science, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience
  • Ability to travel up to 20–25%, or equivalent flexibility
Bonus Cargo
  • Experience in a pre-sales engineer or solutions architect role supporting complex enterprise or government customers
  • Background in data analytics, modeling, or applied data science
  • Familiarity with AI topologies and requirements (Certification is a plus)
  • Familiarity with space, defense, aerospace, or mission-focused technology domains
  • Experience supporting proposal responses, RFIs, or customer demonstrations
  • Comfort working in fast-paced, evolving technical and go-to-market environments

We're building a constellation here, not looking for identical satellites. Every member of the team brings different capabilities to the same mission. If your orbit intersects with ours and you're mission-ready, send it.
