Design and optimize backend systems for MEV infrastructure, focusing on transaction lifecycle, network conditions, and technical leadership.
We’re seeking a highly skilled Senior/Staff Backend Engineer passionate about solving complex problems and motivated to shape the MEV landscape on Monad with high-performance solutions. In this role, you will help design, build, and optimize MEV-related infrastructure, with a focus on block building, transaction ordering, and low-latency execution strategies etc. You’ll work on systems at the intersection of blockchain, trading, and networking, helping to advance the frontier of MEV innovation.
What You’ll Do
- Design and implement performance-critical backend systems for MEV infrastructure throughout the transaction lifecycle .
- Contribute to the development of infrastructure for validator-client integration, relay communication, and block propagation.
- Optimize code for latency, throughput, and reliability in adversarial network conditions.
- Stay informed about MEV developments in Ethereum, Solana, and other ecosystems
What We’re Looking For
- 4-10 years of backend programming experience with expertise in low-level languages like C++ and Rust (experience in both is a plus, but not required).
- Proven backend engineering experience in MEV infrastructure, trading/searching, or block-building organizations.
- Experience designing production-grade, low-latency, high-performance networking architecture and distributed systems.
- Proven track record of technical leadership and project ownership from start to finish.
- Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, collaborative remote environment with strong ownership.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with blockchain internals and validator client behavior.
- Contributions to open-source MEV infra or tooling projects.
- Experience in performance tuning and networking stack optimization.
- HFT experience.
- Academic background from a top-tier university and/or experience at a well-regarded technology company
