Our commitment to pay range transparency fosters an equitable workplace, where everyone can feel valued. The annual compensation range for this position is stated below. The salary offered within this range will be based upon the geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level. Salary Range:

$109,600.00 - $181,000.00

 Purpose Statement:  The process engineer is responsible for providing technical expertise throughout the manufacturing process. This role involves offering guidance on best practices and equipment, optimizing production for efficiency and quality, training various teams, and supporting ongoing production activities. They also ensure the manufacturability of new products while adhering to standards and lead new product introduction processes.

Key Job Accountabilities:

  • Is visible and recognized in all Manufacturing Sites as a Subject Matter Expert of their engineering discipline; and/or is visible and recognized in all Manufacturing Sites as a cross-discipline development leader for product/ process development, process/ product improvement or troubleshooting within site/ region, as it applies to their role.

  • Serves as a technical and/or project team lead, providing technical guidance/ training and motivation for teams, controlling scope, schedule, budget and ensuring overall technical success on mid-size to large Plexus Manufacturing Processes, as it applies to their role.

  • Monitors metrics and supports continuous improvement activities with wider impact than own site, associated with their engineering discipline and/or project execution-focused efforts, as it applies to their role.

  • Provides customer service leadership by establishing positive and productive customer communications during technical/project discussions, developing innovative architectures and solutions to meet customer needs (internal/ external customer), and supporting business continuity engagements and new proposal creation.

  • Leads or supports evaluation, qualification and creation of preferred equipment, materials or suppliers and primary technical point of contact for the region for related concerns.

  • Participates in DMAIC (Define Measure Analyze Implement Control) and CAR closure activities to improve manufacturing processes as required.

Education/Experience Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical science is required; a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or higher is preferred.

  •  Minimum ten (10) years of polymeric materials dispense related experience is required.

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key job accountabilities may be considered.

Other Qualifications:  

  • Intermediate computer skills

  • Advanced decision making, problem solving skills

  • Advanced verbal and written communications skills

  • Excellent analytical and statistical analysis skills; Statistical Process Control software skills (MiniTab preferred).

  • In-depth cross-discipline manufacturing process Ddevelopment knowledge

  • Strong understanding of Structured Design Experiments

  • Ability to develop good working relationships with team members, vendors and customers

  • Lab tools/ tests/measurement equipment experience:

    • Eddy current devices

    • Liquid viscosity test measurement systems

    • SIR (Surface Insulation Resistance).

    • IC (Ion Chromatography) 

    • Thermal measurement devices 

    • UV measurement devices 

    • Localized cleanliness measurement systems

    • Hardness measurement systems 

    • SEM (scanning electron microscopy)

    • Coating cross–hatch adhesion testing 

  • Manufacturing process equipment: 

    • Manual and automated coating dip systems 

    • Manual and automated select and area spray systems

    • Automated masking systems for coating 

    • Automated coating inspection systems

    • Infrared, UV and convection cure systems

    • 3D tool printing

    • Automated tape shape systems 

    • Parylene coating systems

Travel Requirements:

Occasional travel required to support business needs (estimated 10%)
