As a Senior Supply Chain Engineer, you'll design solutions and develop capabilities that support the strategic vision of both C.H. Robinson and our customers. You’ll work on continuous improvement and optimization initiatives across the supply chain—including sourcing, transportation, network layout, inventory, facility layout, order management, warehousing, and material flow. In this role, you’ll also take the lead in measuring and auditing logistics-related carbon emissions and support customer projects involving data mapping and systems integration.

Your key responsibilities will include gathering and cleansing data, conducting trend analysis, solving complex problems, designing solutions, documenting processes, and clearly communicating with stakeholders. You'll also develop financial baselines and calculate savings, all while championing enterprise-level and supply chain strategies. In many cases, you’ll lead project teams working on high-impact, enterprise-wide initiatives.

This is a hybrid position, requiring in-office presence four days a week at our Chicago, IL office, with one day working from home.

  • Analyze historical and forecasted data to generate summaries, baselines, and cost improvement opportunities

  • Develop complex solutions and recommendations for customer issues or opportunities using technical expertise and sound judgment

  • Work independently to implement customer solutions, including documenting procedures, delivering training, and resolving operational issues

  • Manage project teams responsible for defining scope, developing project plans, tracking activities, reporting on progress, and measuring results

  • Align and communicate with customers or internal stakeholders to gather requirements, capture the voice of the customer, and define scope, deliverables, and project milestones

  • Create and deliver clear project updates and summaries for both internal and external audiences

  • Receive coaching, guidance, and feedback from your manager to grow leadership capabilities

  • Contribute to departmental strategy and continuous improvement through capability development and knowledge sharing

  • Other duties or responsibilities as assigned, based on team or country-specific requirements

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

  • Experience using data visualization and analytical tools

  • Ability to travel at least 10% (domestically and internationally)

Preferred:

  • Ability to identify trends, patterns, and outliers in supply chain data to generate insights and recommendations, and coach others in doing the same

  • Understanding of carbon emissions calculation methodologies and/or logistics sustainability practices

  • Experience with or understanding of data integration, data mapping, and data management initiatives

  • Familiarity with carbon emissions calculation tools such as EcotransIT

  • Strong delegation, organization, and task management skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects and business goals
