The Post-Sale Systems Engineering team is the technical lifeblood of the North America Mission Critical Networks Deployment, Managed & Support Services Organization team. Our engineers design and implement the innovative communications solutions that make a difference, "Solving for Safer". As the solution architect and technical consulting lead, the Systems Engineering team has the end-to-end design, technology consultancy, and implementation responsibility for all post-sale project engagements. The Systems Engineering team delivers customer-driven, world-class, leading-edge, end-to-end solutions that rise to the challenges of our First Responder and Government customers. The work we do is meaningful and impactful.
Job Description
NOTE: The preferred candidate will be based out of Los Angeles or Greater Los Angeles Area
The Senior Systems Engineer will take responsibility for and oversee all technical aspects of the assigned project from proposal award until system acceptance.
Final Design and implementation of the radio network, including infrastructure, subscribers, power systems design, equipment shelter and tower designs, and backhaul network design, including microwave, leased line, and customer-provided Ethernet networks
Customer presentations
System staging
Developing system acceptance test plans and conducting system functional acceptance testing
Radio Coverage design, analysis, testing, and interference mitigation
Radio system licensing (FCC/Industry Canada/NTIA)
Preparation of system fleetmap and radio programming templates
Complete system documentation
Live system cutovers and upgrades
Participate in design reviews with pre-sales teams
Consultative guidance to customers, sales, and pre-sales teams
Coordinate with the various functional teams (Project Managers, Field Engineers, Service, Sales, Product Groups) to ensure all business unit goals are addressed
Preferred Skills:
Experience in radio communication systems, radio propagation, RF, wireless or broadband/LTE networks
Experience, a good understanding, and working knowledge in IP networking, network design methodologies & troubleshooting (Ethernet, TCP/IP, L2/L3, MPLS)
Certifications through CompTIA Network+, Juniper JNCIA-Junos, Nokia NRS1, CCNA or similar
Previous knowledge and experience working with Juniper, Aviat, Cisco, Nokia/Alcatel, Xtreme, and/or Ceragon equipment
Experience/knowledge with designing and implementing Microwave Backhaul
Experience directly working with end-user customers
Excellent communication skills and the ability to present complex topics to nontechnical audiences
Self-motivated and able to maintain focus in a pressured environment
A positive attitude with a can-do mentality that enables you to be creative, resourceful, and deliver results
Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to present complex topics to technical and non-technical audiences
Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Willingness to think out of the box and challenge the status quo

Strong self-management skills to perform duties with minimal direct supervision
Ability to quickly solve customer problems under stressful situations.
Target Base Salary Range: $85,000- $102,500 USD
Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.

Basic Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Wireless, Computer, Network Engineering, and 5+ years of experience in engineering
OR 9+ years of engineering or similar experience in lieu of an engineering degree
5+ years of experience in the following areas: LMR, Radio Communications, Radio Frequency, Motorola equipment, Wired/Wireless Communication Systems, Telecommunications, Public Safety, Networking Equipment, IP Networking, Solutions Architecture, ASTRO 25, P25, WAVE VoIP, or Military experience
A good understanding and working knowledge in IP networking, network design methodologies & troubleshooting (Ethernet, TCP/IP, L2/L3, MPLS)
Knowledge of RF coverage predictions, traffic/capacity modeling, and related toolsets is an asset
Must have a valid driver’s license
Work authorization and clearance:
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position
**Must be able to obtain background clearance as required by government customers**
Travel:
25% to 50% travel is required to support all project phases, from design through final acceptance
This is a remote position with travel required to support projects. The candidate MUST reside in or be open to relocation to California
Overnight travel will be required
