Job Summary

Red Hat's Commercial Consulting team is looking for a Senior Project Manager to help guide the adoption of Red Hat's solutions in our Financial Services Industry accounts and service provider partners.  

In this role, you’ll actively manage projects to successful completion from initiation through delivery and closure. This requires excellent coordination of cross-functional teams (through meetings and progress measurement activity) which bring distinct, specific projects to completion both on time and within budget. You should be an experienced project management professional with a full understanding of industry standard project management practices (and Red Hat policies and procedures) with the ability to interact with Red Hat and customer senior management. You will work on problems with diverse scope, evaluate identifiable factors, and demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. You'll also need excellent communication skills and the ability to support multiple teams and geographies for Red Hat's fast-growing Services team. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.

What you will do
  • Initiate and manage strategic and complex projects, assessing financial impact, risks, and opportunities

  • Develop and execute communication strategies for client and project team serving as the key communication point between clients, consulting teams and organizational departments

  • Implement and Lead agile practices, acting as a change agent with strong leadership

  • Coordinate cross-functional team meetings using best practices

  • Align with the Resource Management Office to manage staffing and project closeout activities

  • Collaborate with product owners to refine backlog and release plans

  • Coach and mentor project teams on processes, project goals, deadlines and best practices 

  • Establish effective change management processes and assess change impact

  • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies, including backlog grooming, sprint planning, and retrospectives

  • Monitor and report key achievement toward outcomes and key metrics including backlog, burn-down charts, and velocity

  • Resolve technical and operational issues while maintaining professionalism

  • Develop expertise in Red Hat’s technologies

  • Travel up to 50% as required

What you will bring
  • Demonstrated experience as a project/program manager managing, large, complex enterprise IT projects

  • Solid understanding of software development life cycle models as well as expert knowledge of both Agile and traditional project management principles and practices and the ability to blend them together in the right proportions to fit a project and business environment 

  • Experience with establishing, and contributing to, process improvements

  • Experience in dealing with complex projects and multicultural and multidisciplinary teams

  • Track record of successfully managing complex projects from inception to closure

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, leadership skills, analytical ability, strategic thinking and business judgment

  • Ability to work effectively across a widely diverse management team, as well as a broad spectrum of internal and external partners

  • Detail-oriented and able to work in a very fast-paced environment

  • Healthy balance of business and technical background

  • Ability to articulate the Project Management value proposition and be an evangelist for the Red Hat Services PM methodology and techniques

The following is considered a plus

  • Certification with PMI or other Agile methodologies

The salary range for this position is $118,600.00 - $195,680.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.

Pay Transparency

Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
