Osborn Engineering is seeking an experienced Senior Technology Designer to join our team. This position will report to the Director of Technology and will work closely with directors, managers and engineering staff to ensure client's needs and expectations are met and exceeded in a timely fashion.


Osborn is a fully integrated multi-disciplined design firm that uses a specialized team approach to engineering projects. These teams are comprised of a staff of 300+ professionals that provide designs for all phases of a wide range of projects. Osborn has specialists in civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and life safety, technology engineering, transportation and commissioning. Position Responsibilities


  • Able to lead and mentor Designer level staff on their responsibilities.
  • Review content of drawings and specs for Designers in order to meet the scope of work.
  • Write new specification sections and develop new details as required for project needs.
  • Direct Designer’s quality on RFI answers and submitted review.
  • Travel to project sites to review progress of work; successfully solve problems within time and budget.
  • Develop and monitor work plans in conjunction with PM.
  • Understand and apply concepts of distance limitations, interference, bandwidth needs, etc.
  • Review code related items with Designers and ensure compliance.
  • Manage work plans and deliverables on multiple projects within budgeted hours.
  • Write studies and reports for Technology Design Systems on projects.
  • Execute complex TD designs with minimal input, minimally defined design requirements, and difficult coordination.
  • Market Sector – Expert in TD requirements for applications within multiple market sectors.
  • Write industry white papers.
  • Able to manage projects.

Job Requirements/Qualifications


  • Engineering Degree, RCDD. (Recommended)
  • PE. (Optional)
  • 15-20 years of experience. 
  • Ability to work on several projects concurrently.
  • Strong communication and inter-personal skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Industry knowledge required.
