At Cetera Retirement Plan Specialists, Cetera’s TPA, we aim to remove complexity from retirement plan design and administration by providing in-house expertise and guidance to the Cetera advisor community. Cetera TPA Sales Consultants strive to exceed expectations by forging meaningful connections with financial professionals and their clients, understanding their needs, and providing them with top-notch retirement plan design strategies and solutions to enhance their business.
As a member of our TPA sales team, you will make a difference and leave a lasting impact on the industry by developing and fostering relationships with our advisors through phone, web-based, and in-person meetings, drawing on extensive retirement plan design and product knowledge, industry insights, and our retirement plan resources. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality retirement plan design feasibility studies and sales support. This role is ideal for a TPA plan design expert who thrives on building relationships, improving processes, and delivering exceptional service. This individual will join our Cetera Workplace & Retirement team.
This individual will cover the Midwest region covering these states: KS, NE, NM, ND, OK, SD, TX, CO, WY, LA, AR.
Candidates must be located in one of these states for proper coverage of this region.
What You'll Do:
- Develop and execute a disciplined sales strategy within your territory to build and retain advisor relationships by providing consultative retirement plan design sales support.
- Retirement Plan Design Preparation and Consulting: Defined Contribution and Defined Benefit plan design consulting, proposal and feasibility study generation and presentation.
- Responsible for meeting or exceeding annual revenue goals.
- Be the external face of CRPS in your territory to nurture partnerships with financial advisors.
- Ability to establish and maintain a steady sales pipeline in your assigned territory.
- An in-depth, comprehensive understanding of the retirement plan space with relationships and plan design knowledge in the assigned territory
- Team player mentality and ability to interface with other departments to drive our common goals
- Polished sales skills for presenting to financial advisors and clients
- Represent the team at national meetings or conferences, including public speaking, running panel discussions or other opportunities.
- Proactive Sales Campaigns: Document activity around outbound calls, scheduled meetings, virtual study groups, group webinars, etc. to promote retirement plan business growth and awareness of resources.
- Fiduciary Programs: Manage the promotion of the 3(16) Fiduciary Plan Administrative services. Promote use in advisor discussions and consult with advisors on benefits for plan sponsors.
- Assist advisors with issue resolution
- Travel to conferences and advisor locations for site visits (up to 50%)
What You Need to Have:
- Proven experience in TPA sales with 10+ years of experience selling to financial advisors
- Exceptional knowledge of retirement plan design: Cash Balance, DC, DB plans
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Results driven with a track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets
- Experience: 3-5 years with a focus in the retirement plan industry (401k, etc.)
- Education Preferred: Bachelor's Degree (Degree in Business, Economics, Marketing or Communications)
- Designations or qualifications preferred QKS, QKA or equivalent designation or willingness to attain within 18 months
- Software/System Skills: Microsoft Office (required), Salesforce.com (preferred)
- Ideal candidate would have experience in an advisor facing role within a TPA
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $100,000, plus competitive incentive compensation package. Compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and location. Compensation ranges may differ significantly due to geography and cost of labor considerations.
