About Us

Jordan Digital Marketing is a remote-first, remote-always digital marketing agency. We specialize in paid media, SEO, and content marketing for startups and high-growth companies across B2B and B2C. Our mission is simple: deliver best-in-class performance and act as a true extension of our clients’ in-house teams.

The Role

The SEO Account Director exists to own the success of a portfolio of client accounts - both directly managed and those led by their team - and to build the team that delivers it. This role is where client outcomes, team development, and business growth converge, and the health of the accounts and people under their leadership directly determines whether JDM's SEO practice grows.

Core Accountabilities

Account & portfolio ownership
  • Own the results of your directly managed accounts and every account on your team

  • Drive maximum organic search impact using advanced SEO strategies - from Video SEO and structured data optimization to off-page partnership development and content marketing strategy

  • Set strategic direction and prioritization across the portfolio, adjusting as client goals and the search landscape shift

  • Offer insight and perspective on support accounts across the broader team

The standard: Every account in the portfolio has a clear strategy, is trending toward its goals, and no account's health comes as a surprise - to the client or to JDM leadership.

Client relationships & retention
  • Maintain strong, trusted relationships with clients on directly managed and team accounts

  • Serve as the senior escalation point when accounts hit turbulence, resolving issues before they threaten the relationship

  • Connect SEO performance to the business outcomes each client actually cares about

  • Represent JDM's standard of quality in every client interaction

The standard: Clients see JDM as an extension of their team, renewals are earned well before the contract date, and at-risk accounts are identified and addressed early.

Team leadership & development
  • Manage an entire team

  • Own team development, training, buy-in, and retention

  • Coach team members toward stronger strategic thinking and client management, not just task execution

  • Assist in the hiring process and team building as JDM grows

The standard: The team is retained, developing, and delivering at JDM's quality bar without requiring rework, and team members can point to how they've grown under this person's leadership.

Business contribution
  • Participate in major business functions - sales, audits, onboarding, hiring, and content

  • Support new business with credible, compelling SEO perspective in pitches and audits

  • Ensure smooth onboarding that sets new accounts up for long-term success

  • Contribute to JDM's marketing presence and thought leadership

The standard: This role's fingerprints are on the growth of the SEO practice itself - new business won, new accounts launched well, and JDM's reputation strengthened.

Strategy & innovation
  • Drive new strategy, skills development, and learning across the SEO team

  • Stay ahead of algorithm changes, industry shifts, and emerging SEO practices

  • Turn new knowledge into repeatable approaches the whole team can use

  • Raise the bar on what JDM's SEO offering can deliver

The standard: JDM's SEO practice is measurably better - sharper strategies, stronger skills, better results - because this person is leading it.

Primary Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in SEO, with expertise across a wide range of SEO strategies

  • 6+ years of experience managing and developing a team

  • 8+ years in a client-facing digital marketing role

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of clear, concise, and timely communication

  • Strong people skills, including active listening with empathy

  • An analytical mindset - the ability to look at account and team data and form a clear point of view on what to do next

  • While the role is remote, we are only hiring within the US

We'd love it if you also have
  • Content marketing or professional writing experience

  • A mix of in-house and agency experience

  • An entrepreneurial mindset with genuine curiosity about the industry

  • Experience working with other marketing channels such as paid, CRO, organic social, or email

  • Experience collaborating across teams and with other marketing functions

  • Prior remote work experience

Benefits
  • We’re fully remote (we were remote before it was cool)

  • Medical, Dental, & Vision Insurance

  • HSA, FSA, and dependent care FSA

  • 401k with company matching

  • Flexible working hours

  • Yearly professional development stipend

  • Flexible PTO

  • Monthly WFH stipend

  • Company-provided laptop

  • Equipment stipend to build out your home office

  • Parental leave - 12 weeks (3 weeks paid, 9 weeks unpaid)

  • 529 College Savings Plan

  • Fun surprises on your birthday and workiversary!

While the job posting shows a specific city, this is a fully remote position.

We really value diversity & inclusion in our hiring and culture. We are proud that our team is majority female and that many ethnicities are represented. We encourage you to apply and share this with candidates from diverse backgrounds.
