Jordan Digital Marketing is a remote-first, remote-always digital marketing agency. We specialize in paid media, SEO, and content marketing for startups and high-growth companies across B2B and B2C. Our mission is simple: deliver best-in-class performance and act as a true extension of our clients’ in-house teams.
The RoleThe SEO Account Director exists to own the success of a portfolio of client accounts - both directly managed and those led by their team - and to build the team that delivers it. This role is where client outcomes, team development, and business growth converge, and the health of the accounts and people under their leadership directly determines whether JDM's SEO practice grows.
Core AccountabilitiesAccount & portfolio ownershipOwn the results of your directly managed accounts and every account on your team
Drive maximum organic search impact using advanced SEO strategies - from Video SEO and structured data optimization to off-page partnership development and content marketing strategy
Set strategic direction and prioritization across the portfolio, adjusting as client goals and the search landscape shift
Offer insight and perspective on support accounts across the broader team
The standard: Every account in the portfolio has a clear strategy, is trending toward its goals, and no account's health comes as a surprise - to the client or to JDM leadership.
Client relationships & retentionMaintain strong, trusted relationships with clients on directly managed and team accounts
Serve as the senior escalation point when accounts hit turbulence, resolving issues before they threaten the relationship
Connect SEO performance to the business outcomes each client actually cares about
Represent JDM's standard of quality in every client interaction
The standard: Clients see JDM as an extension of their team, renewals are earned well before the contract date, and at-risk accounts are identified and addressed early.
Team leadership & developmentManage an entire team
Own team development, training, buy-in, and retention
Coach team members toward stronger strategic thinking and client management, not just task execution
Assist in the hiring process and team building as JDM grows
The standard: The team is retained, developing, and delivering at JDM's quality bar without requiring rework, and team members can point to how they've grown under this person's leadership.
Business contributionParticipate in major business functions - sales, audits, onboarding, hiring, and content
Support new business with credible, compelling SEO perspective in pitches and audits
Ensure smooth onboarding that sets new accounts up for long-term success
Contribute to JDM's marketing presence and thought leadership
The standard: This role's fingerprints are on the growth of the SEO practice itself - new business won, new accounts launched well, and JDM's reputation strengthened.
Strategy & innovationDrive new strategy, skills development, and learning across the SEO team
Stay ahead of algorithm changes, industry shifts, and emerging SEO practices
Turn new knowledge into repeatable approaches the whole team can use
Raise the bar on what JDM's SEO offering can deliver
