JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision and direction of the Recreation Supervisor, the Site Director plans activities, oversees recreation leaders, activities, and oversees all functions of the Before/After School site. The H-F Park District’s mission statement is “to enhance the quality of life through diverse recreational opportunities, facilities and parks while caring for the environment”.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide outstanding customer service to our internal and external guests by providing friendly, responsive, courteous and helpful service.
- Manage, plan, direct, implement, and evaluate camp programs and activities.
- Plan, direct and participate in camp activities including arts and crafts, games, sports, and nature activities.
- Guide, direct, evaluate and motivate camp staff.
- Guide, direct and motivate campers.
- Provide a safe environment for all staff and campers.
- Be cordial and courteous to the public.
- Inform Recreation Supervisor of all camp happenings.
- Maintain record keeping including attendance, accident, emergency forms, and weekly/monthly calendars.
- Conduct campsite staff meetings.
- Attend all staff meetings (site director, campsite, and camp-wide).
- Adhere to the policies and procedures as outlined in the staff manuals and trainings.
- Other related job duties as assigned.

JOB SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
- High School graduate.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Two years of formal work experience working with children.
- CPR/AED Certification or the willingness to become certified.
