Reimagine What’s Possible 


The Site Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing all phases of operation for Generated Gases on-site plants in the New England area, including Massachusetts and Rhode Island. This role will also support other Air Products assets in the region, including the Marlborough, MA BHY Transfill facility. The site is operated and maintained by one person

The selected candidate will be expected to develop a strong understanding of all site responsibilities, including plant operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and customer communications, with a particular focus on leadership and safe, reliable operation. This site is operated and maintained by one individual, so the successful candidate must be highly self-motivated, safety-focused, organized, and capable of working independently.

A successful Generated Gases Site Supervisor will demonstrate strong communication skills, mechanical aptitude, operational discipline, and a commitment to safety and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a strong commitment to safety, including compliance with Basic Safety Performance (BSP) requirements and process safety management standards.

  • Promote and support positive customer relationships through effective and timely communication.

  • Complete all administrative responsibilities associated with the site.

  • Support all aspects of day-to-day plant operations, including troubleshooting process or mechanical issues, coordinating maintenance activities, driving plant efficiency, and supporting plant-related projects.

  • Provide 24/7 on-call support to respond to plant alarms, shutdowns, and operational issues.

  • Identify maintenance concerns and develop and implement corrective and preventive actions while working within planned maintenance budgets.

  • Communicate regularly and effectively with the North America Operating Service Center (OSC), Asset Manager, Regional Maintenance Manager, Technical Support Team, PHG Operations Line Manager, and ASU Management Team.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Strong track record of success in Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) and Quality.

  • Self-starter with demonstrated leadership abilities and a high level of motivation to plan, prioritize, and execute required tasks in accordance with safety, environmental, and engineering standards.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively in a team environment.

  • Demonstrated computer literacy skills.

  • Team-oriented mindset with flexibility and a positive attitude.

  • Willingness and ability to work alone.

  • Experience operating steam methane reformer (SMR) hydrogen plants and/or Air Separation Units (ASUs) is preferred, but not required. Training will be provided to the successful candidate.

Minimum Hiring Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Must be willing and able to work independently at a one-person site.

  • Two- or four-year degree in a technical field is a plus, but not required.

  • Two or more years of relevant operations experience is preferred.

  • Must be able to participate in 24/7 on-call responsibilities.

  • Must be able to climb ladders and stairs and lift a minimum of 50 lbs.

  • Must be comfortable working at elevated heights.

The expected pay range is $80,550 - $135,815 plus bonus. This is the range that we reasonably expect to pay for this position as individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
