DoD SkillBridge Opportunity | Remote | 3 to 6 Months

What You’ll Do

This internship will drop you right into the world of recruiting, hiring, and employer engagement. You’ll work with our team, our partners, and our community to help connect veterans and military spouses to careers that matter.

Understand Talent Needs

  • Sit in on conversations with employers to learn what they’re really looking for

  • Help match transitioning service members to opportunities based on skills, values, and mission alignment

  • Learn how to translate military experience into civilian qualifications

Build Screening and Selection Skills

  • Review resumes and support phone screens

  • Help guide candidates through interviews and application processes

  • Create a professional, human experience for everyone you support

Grow Relationships Across the Ecosystem

  • Engage with military transition offices, community partners, and veteran networks

  • Support outreach, candidate engagement, and mentorship

  • Help grow our talent pipeline and referral network

Use Modern Talent Tools

  • Learn how to track candidates, manage job pipelines, and organize data

  • Work inside our CRM, ATS, and communication platforms

  • Get hands-on experience with systems used by high-performing recruiting teams

Support the SkillBridge Process

  • Help new applicants navigate the SkillBridge timeline and requirements

  • Coordinate with command teams, HR contacts, and BufferSprings staff

  • Offer peer support and transition guidance to fellow service members

  • Consistent follow-through and attention to detail

  • Background in leadership, admin, recruiting, or HR is helpful but not required

RequirementsEligibility
This internship is open to active-duty service members approved to participate in the DoD SkillBridge program. We welcome enlisted and officer applicants from all branches, backgrounds, and occupational specialties.

To qualify, you must:

  • Be currently serving on active duty in the U.S. military

  • Have a minimum of 90 days remaining before your official separation date

  • Be approved or in the process of being approved by your command to participate in SkillBridge

Preferred Qualifications
  • A strong interest in learning the fundamentals of recruiting, hiring, and talent acquisition

  • Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Ability to stay self-motivated and work independently within a remote team

  • A genuine passion for supporting fellow veterans, spouses, and transitioning service members

  • Prior military recruiting or retention experience is a plus

  • Curiosity, professionalism, and a desire to represent the military-connected community with pride and purpose
