Job Description

The Software/Application Developer designs and codes functional software programs and applications. They collaborate with teams to set specifications, write high-quality code, conduct testing, and troubleshoot applications.  The successful candidate will be part of project teams providing professional cost engineering services to clients.  The software/application developer will work closely with the project team to translate client requirements into application features.  They may be responsible for interfacing with the client to better understand the client’s needs, design prototypes, write code, perform testing and maintain technical documentation. 

  

Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with project management, colleagues and customers to identify end-user requirements and specifications.
  • Designing algorithms and flowcharts to create new software programs and systems.
  • Producing efficient and elegant code based on requirements.
  • Testing and deploying programs and applications.
  • Troubleshooting, debugging, maintaining and improving existing software.
  • Compiling and assessing user feedback to improve software performance.
  • Observing user feedback to recommend improvements to existing software products.
  • Developing technical documentation to guide future software development projects.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Basic knowledge of at least one programming language (such as Python, Java, JavaScript, or C#) and fundamental database/SQL understanding.
  • 0-2 years experience in related field.
  • Experienced with Git or other version control systems preferred.
  • Experienced working in teams.
  • Working toward one or more relevant professional designations.
  • Have strong soft skills such as communication, problem-solving, willingness to learn.
  • Able to work remotely, and at times independently.
