Role: Software Developer - Alibaba Cloud

Experience Level: 5+ yrs

Work Location: US/Canada (Remote)

Role Overview:

We’re looking for a Software Developer with hands-on Alibaba Cloud (AliCloud) experience to help design, build, and scale modern cloud-native applications for global clients. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges, working across distributed systems, and delivering secure, high-performing solutions in cloud environments.

You’ll work closely with architects, DevOps, and product teams to build scalable applications and infrastructure using Alibaba Cloud services and modern development practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement scalable, high-performance applications and services on the Alibaba Cloud platform

• Architect and deliver cloud-native solutions leveraging microservices, containerization, and serverless technologies

• Lead the integration and configuration of Alibaba Cloud services including ECS, ACK (Kubernetes), OSS, RDS, SLB, and Function Compute

• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business and technical requirements into secure, reliable solutions

• Establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines to enable automated testing, deployment, and release management

• Optimize system performance, availability, and cost efficiency through proactive monitoring and continuous improvement

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues while ensuring minimal service disruption

• Contribute to architecture reviews, technical documentation, and development standards to promote best practices and code quality

• Support cloud modernization and migration initiatives to Alibaba Cloud environments

Basic Qualifications:

• 5+ years of professional software development experience building and delivering production-grade applications

• Demonstrated hands-on experience designing, deploying, and managing solutions within Alibaba Cloud (AliCloud) environments

• Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, Node.js, or Go

• Solid understanding of cloud architecture principles, distributed systems, and scalable application design

• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes/ACK

• Proficiency in designing and consuming RESTful APIs and microservices-based architectures

• Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and automated testing frameworks

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams

Other Qualifications (OQs):

• Alibaba Cloud certifications or demonstrated advanced expertise across core AliCloud services and architecture

• Experience leading or supporting cloud migration and modernization initiatives from AWS, Azure, or GCP to Alibaba Cloud

• Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code and automation frameworks such as Terraform, ROS, or similar tooling

• Experience designing and supporting highly available, multi-region, or globally distributed cloud environments

• Knowledge of cloud security best practices, governance, and compliance standards within regulated or enterprise environments

• Familiarity with observability, monitoring, and logging solutions to ensure system reliability and performance (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, CloudMonitor)

• Experience working in consulting, professional services, or client-facing delivery environments
