About the Role

We’re seeking a Software Engineer II for our Data Engineering team to help design and build high-performance data ingestion pipelines and cloud infrastructure that support our analytics and product development teams. In this role, you will be central to transforming complex, high-volume datasets into trusted signals that power Socure’s fraud and identity verification solutions.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, implement, and maintain robust data ingestion pipelines to process diverse sources such as transaction, vendor, and consortium data.

  • Re-architect and productionize batch and proof-of-concept (POC) pipelines to meet enterprise-grade scalability and performance.

  • Build distributed data processing solutions using Apache Spark on AWS EMR and related services.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (data science, analytics, platform engineering) to deliver high-impact data services.

  • Implement and optimize data analytics infrastructure to support real-time fraud detection and identity scoring.

  • Ensure high standards for data quality, pipeline monitoring, and operational excellence.

  • Leverage GenAI tools and models to enhance automation, classification, or feature extraction.

  • Manage infrastructure using Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code tools.
     

Qualifications

  • 2–4+ years of experience in software/data engineering, preferably in high-scale or real-time data environments.

  • Proficiency in Scala, Java, or Python, with strong fundamentals in data structures and system design.

  • Hands-on experience with Apache Spark (or equivalent distributed frameworks like Hadoop).

  • Solid expertise working with AWS services such as EMR, Lambda, S3, Glue, Step Functions, etc.

  • Strong SQL skills and experience analyzing large datasets.

  • Proven ability to learn new technologies quickly and work across teams and functions.

  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Experience at a technology or platform-as-a-service (PaaS) company, especially in data or analytics platforms.

  • Exposure to GenAI technologies or ML/AI workflows.

  • Experience with Terraform or similar IaC frameworks for managing data infrastructure.

Salary Disclosure:Base Salary range: $150,000 - $180,000

This represents the expected salary range for this job requisition. Final offers may vary from the amount listed based on factors including geography, candidate experience and expertise, and other job related factors. Socure's compensation and rewards package for full time roles includes a market competitive salary, equity,  comprehensive benefits, and, for applicable roles, commissions plans or an annual discretionary performance bonus.
